AdventureDot (http://adventure.rpgdot.com) are reporting (http://adventure.rpgdot.com/#44085) that Simon The Sorcerer 4 has been announced.

Several German websites made mention that a new adventure, "Simon The Sorcerer 4" was being developed by Silver Style Entertainment (thanks to our own Gorath for much of the information). Still, without any real and solid confirmation, AdventureDot held off making any kind of announcement. "Yes, we bought the right to develop StS4 and to release it worldwide. We also have options to develop more sequels for PC and consoles.

The game will be completly in 3D, but without any action parts. StS4 will be a classical adventure like Simon 1+2 or Monkey Island. Mike Woodroffe will give input regarding the story and will be informed about the whole development process. The release of StS4 will be in Q3 06.
Woohoo!

Wonder if its the same guys that made the first games, AdventureSoft or something (too lazy to look it up). If so, its the same guys behind the old Horrorsoft company... best damn game company ever, IMHO.

Whatever the case, I hope its a LOT better than Simon 3, which was downright awefull.

Let's hope this is a genuine effort to revitalize the unconscious adventure genre, instead of yet another attempt to cash in on people's pepetual weakness for nostalgia.

Unconscious? It has been making a bit of a comeback...
