Uh huh... they can pack it with whatever feature they like, never going to upgrade from 1.5. :)

I hear rumors of a program that allows you to cycle through firmware versions. Is there any truth to that?

Yeah, put you have to unpack the firmware, and change stuff, and the directions stink. So far I havnt been able to figure it out.... Although this trick will not work for all 2.x required games, as some require encrypted kernals.

Did Sony ever get around to building proper Flash/Shockwave support into the 2.x web browser? That would make a big difference in my book - give me PopCap games and Homestar Runner on my PSP and I'll be a happy guy. I'd love to see UPnP video/audio support as well, but I don't see that happening...

I rather use 2.0 and an eboot loader.

* Volume adjustment
Are you telling me you couldn't adjust the volume before this firmware relase?
Man, glad I didn't get one.

I kinda wish the PSP would support DivX personally. I guess the PSP isn't powerful enough to support a software player to do it though.

The poster forgot to mention that the volume adjustment added is as an option in the LocationFree™ Player control panel, as the linked article points out.

My guess is that the PSP could probably handle DivX and its cousins just fine - my understanding is that some of the formats already supported by the PSP are just as CPU-intensive as DivX. The question, as always, is whether Sony wants to bother supporting it...

Sony can suck my homebrew.
I hear that the RSS feed allows for streaming audio via RSS. I'm going to go home and confirm this tonight since I already fell for the 2.5 upgrade.
If I can setup my home computer to stream all my MP3s to my PSP, well that will just kick ass.
