For those lucky gamers who own Dawn of War - Soulstorm the multiplayer beta of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is now available on Steam (http://steampowered.com).

Restart your Steam client if you don't see the Beta news message.

Emabulator said there is no skirmish AI in the beta. Has anyone tried it to confirm?

I don't know what he means by that. I just hosted a 6 player map with me and 5 AI bots. You can choose race, specialty, and AI intelligence for each. I put all the bots in support specialty so they wouldn't go super aggressive and I could tech up a bit. Seems like fun so far...

Very cool. This lets me activate my retail copy on Steam, so I can install it over Steam from now on. However, I tried the codes for the other DoW games, and none of them worked. Looks like they only enabled that capability for Soulstorm.

Ah, Ha! You just said that so you could get some extra game time in before I grabbed it. Sneaky motherfracker! :p

P. S. My son, who has owned my ass in every RTS since C&C: Red Alert 2, was the one who fed me that piece of faulty intelligence. Something foul is afoot!

It's a good thing he's married, lives 3,000 miles away and is twice my size or he'd be in big trouble.

Welp, this is the MP aspect of the game, so there's a good chance they're just making sure the network code is holding up.

I wonder why gamestop.com nor gogamer.com dont have this listed as pre order since it is gold. I found it on amazon.com but have never ordered games off there.

I know all the gamestop/ebgames haters around but to be honest they have never let me down in 10 yeas on getting a title on day after shipping.....

Yeah, and Best Buy has games for pre-order that don't even have a release date announced.
Take Prototype for example...

As far as DOW is concerned, I have yet to see anything on the Games for Windows site hinting at anything.

I love W40K, just need to know more about when it will be released.

Anywho, what do you think about the new game, is it good? I'm tempted to try the beta myself, but I'm afraid it will ruin my DoW1 experience since I'm currently trying to play through the original and all its expansions.
