This week Big Download posted up a couple of features with PC game franchises that we want to see revived. Those features went over so well we decided to do two more. Check out our third (http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/01/14/feature-10-more-pc-games-that-need-a-comeback/) and fourth parts (http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/01/16/feature-10-additional-pc-games-that-need-a-comeback/) of our feature right now.

There's lots of games that we think could get a comeback...which ones do you wish would be revived?

I'm not sure about Jade Empire, c'mon 2006 and it needs a "comeback" ?

Anyway, I'd -love- to see another Mechwarrior game, in the spirit of Mechwarrior 2 or 3, but not 4 (bolt on arms on my Mad Dog ? Surrats!)

Mechwarrior (as with Ulysses, more along the lines of 3 rather than 4)
Tribes
Terra Nova

Just hitting on all those Comeback features.

Mechwarrior: Yes, though I very much doubt it will sell well enough to really warrant it. It was a niche game to begin with and I think it's audience has dwindle since its heyday of MW2 & 3. That said, I'd still like to see a MW5 and Mech Commander game wouldn't go amiss either.
Tribes: I dunno really... I liked it, but the hardcore tribes players are a pain to play with for any length of time and I never quiet gotten the knack of gliding over the ground with the jet packs (which is a must in the game.) I did like the back story though.
MoO: Why? We have GalCiv2 now :p
Jade Empire: Mediocre game to me and, as previously mentioned, a bit to new to warrant a 'come back.'
X-wing/TIE Fighter: Oh hell yes! I've been praying for these games to make a comeback and was sorely disappointed that the last Star Wars PC game bundle didn't have it.
Homeworld: Yes, yes ,yes. Nothing has come out yet that approaches the combat and feel of this game. I really wish I didn't sell my copies of HW1 & 2 to a friend...
AvP: Yes, because the upcoming colonial marines game doesn't look like its going to cut it.

The rest I haven't played or I really didn't care enough about to comment on. Though I wish I knew about Freedom Fighters, that looks like a interesting game.

I'd like a Jedi Academy remake but I don't know if it'd keep its charm with swishy graphics.

The Journeyman Project was the *scariest* game I ever played. Probably because I was very little when I played it- those robots were scary as hell.

The Original System Shock needs to come back...that game was awesome. I'd be happy with a remake of the original.

I agree with all the picks but they need to expand the Ultima series to included Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss

This was my first game and for me is the gold standard. I believe the evil avatar is the Guardian from Ultima and our beloved evilavatar eye is from the abyss. Correct?

Hell yeahs to:

Thief (hell, I even liked the gimped-because-of XBox last installment) -- nothing beats bonking every guard in a level over the head and piling up their sleeping bodies
Planescape
Ultima single player (with Underworld)
System Shock
AvP

One they didn't mention:

Vampire the Masquerade -- Bloodlines was fun, even with all the horrendous bugs in it.

Yes! And I want a proper Bard's Tale sequel. WHY has this concept been so UNDERUSED? A bard character playing in-game music (that you HEAR) that affects your gameplay/combat. Why has this not been used since Bard's Tale? It was brilliant!
