The Steam Review (http://www.steamreview.org/) has an interview with Introversion Software about their recent Steam distribution deal, and how it affects their future.

TSR: Will your new relationship with Valve lead to any new content, features or improvements to any of your games?

IV: Certainly, the multiplayer features of the Steam system take the pain away from matching up players to multiplayer servers, so that’s something we’d like to make more use of in the future. Also, since we now have the distribution, localised versions will also be developed, starting with German for release, and French in the new year…

TSR: So we are going to be seeing multi-player games from Introversion?

IV: Yes. We have design docs for a multiplayer version of Darwinia - we’re currently scheduling the work / release. We also have a new multiplayer game coming out in Spring that we’ll be talking more about in the new year.Read the full interview now! (http://www.steamreview.org/?p=27)

Darwinia is a spectacular game and I would recommend it to anyone... Unless you're a graphics whore in which case you can fuck off right now.

I'm ecstatic this game is going to be getting the attention it deserves. The guys at introversion deserve all the plaudits they get.

I always wanted to try this but I didnt get around to it. The concept sounds so intriguing to me.

Just play it, it's an absolute breath of fresh air. One of my favourite games this year by far.

I tried to download the demo, but their webpage says it's no longer available and will reappear on Steam at a later date.

Darwinia is a very cool game. Unless you use sound, then you're a jerk!

I'll hit this up as soon as it hits steam, always wanted to get it, but never saw it in a store. I love the electronic distribution.

I read a book called Darwinia this game seems to have nothing in common with the book. Could this be a potential problem for this game? Trademark or Copyright Infringment?

not that I care

From a legal perspective if the use of the same name for two different pieces of media will only be actionable if there is an inference the latter is related to the former (this need not be deliberate). In this case there's nothing to worry about.

Anyway everyone should go play Darwinia. It is one of the few games I reviewed where I look back at the score I gave and think "Perhaps that should have been higher".

Darwinia is very cool, just like Uplink. The Introversion forums however, eurgh.
