Of course we may never know all the details, but cutting Ensemble makes no sense from this fan's perspective. Ensemble has made some of my favorite games.

Ridiculous for you to say that. Microsoft just dissolved the studio and re-hired most of the team, probably to make Halo Wars 2, 3, and 4. Who knows. But it seems obvious that for whatever reason they wanted the talent and product. Maybe they did this to prevent what Bungie did, that this, prevent the studio from "running away". They can't now, since they are completely part of Microsoft. Make sense?
