The head of the Liberation Army, players can also gather up to 108 companions to join them in battles as they call the shots in large-scale warfare. This is one of the few RPGs that I played through in a little more than a weekend because I got sucked into it. I'll be darned if I can remember exactly WHY though.

That's surprising. A couple years back, I sold a copy of Suikoden 1 that I found for $4, and I profited $40 off it from ebay.

Wow, now I actually think I can give this game a go. I've always been interested, but never really had the chance (or the want to pay a butt load of money) to play this. Also great since I can take it on PSP and play it wherever. Now if they only put RE2 on the American PSN...

Loved this title, I recall working at Blockbuster when it first came out and I rented a PSone unit from the store for the weekend just to play this title. Ended up keeping the system for two weeks till I found all 108 people.

Oooooooh, good old Suikoden! It was a massively entertaining game back in the day, and I played through it twice, the second time obsessing over finding all 108 characters and hidden stuff. Good times, good times.

Is that the US cover art there? DAMN that's an ugly piece of work.

I have a Suikoden IV silk poster scroll hanging on my wall. Never really played any of the games though aside from a few minutes of IV and quick rentals of some others. This is was happenes when you are a crazed collector.

As great as this announcement is, it would be even better if Suikoden 2 would come to PSN!

The original Suikoden was amazing, but I prefer the sequel. There was a rumor that both games would be released for the PSP but this could be way cooler if they bring Suikoden 2 to PSN.

The first was one of those games I consider a classic, and I still own the original game. It's up there with FF4, Chrono Trigger, and FF Tactics.

Oh, and if you're a fan of any of the suikoden games, but gave up on the later games (cause they started to get watered down): Try Suikoden 5. Next to the first one, it was by far my favorite of the series.

The first game is a classic in its own right, different than anything else that was available at the time. It's worth playing, just to further appreciate the work of art that is the sequel. Suikoden II is great on its own, but familiarity with the original will increase your enjoyment by 1000%.

If Sony releases Suikoden II and somehow enables you to import your Suikoden I save, that would be GREAT.

Classic game, gave me a flashback of Chrono Trigger at times with the combo attacks you can trigger during battles. And the acoustic guitar-laced soundtrack was the best of it's time.
