Old Xbox Games Getting Achievement Patches?

Here's a rumor I can get behind, even if its pretty far fetched. Kombo (http://360.kombo.com/article.php?artid=15472) is reporting that via some European Nintendo (http://www.europe-nintendo.com/forums/general-articles-centre/997-source-achievements-to-be-patched-into-original-xbox-titles.html) site, Microsoft has mentioned adding achievements to original Xbox games starting with Halo and Fable. Sure its probably not gonna happen, but hey... I'd like to see it.

We were told by our source that this is to get gamers interested in original Xbox titles, and if successful they plan to make more titles available for download and backwards compatible, there's still hope for you Deus Ex fans out there Each game will have 500 achievement points. And testing is also responsible for some original Xbox titles apearing on gamers profiles.

I'd rather a few more titles added to the BC list, not achievements added to the popular ones.

I know it's not a priority, and they don't get an awful lot of play, but there's still 2 or 3 games in my Xbox library that don't work yet.

Well, off the top of my head, Gladius, X-Men Legends, and Bloody Roar Extreme (huge fan of this series).

Again, I know they're not AAA titles or titles that are hugely popular, but I had a lot of fun with em before I sold my Xbox . . . thinking that eventually all my games would be backwards compatible.

I would love this, there are a bunch of old Xbox titles I still need to go back and finish and this would be a great incentive to pick them back up again.

I've said all along that the only way they'd get me to buy any of the Xbox Originals on the Marketplace would be for them to add achievements. I'd definitely go back and buy/play some of my favorites if they did this.

That's right. I'm an achievement whore and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Please, please, PLEASE make this happen. I need to be incentivized to go back and finish Voodoo Vince, Metal Arms, and Ninja Gaiden. And, of course, it would be a great excuse to go and play through Conker again. :)

WHY do you need Chronicles of Riddick BC when the the Escape from Dark Athena game will have the entire campaign of that game reworked for 360, with Achievements, plus a new campaign. Guess someone doesn't keep track of the gaming news....

I would rather have Achievements as there are only a handful of games on my pile of shame for the Xbox that I will actually get to that aren't BC. Really I just want it for finishing Oddworld Stranger's Wrath.

I would love new achievements, and also new games to the BC list (MGS2, Otogi, Kung Fu Chaos, Riddick). I suspect that nothing of this will happen.

I've always been surprised that microsoft hasn't done this. Seems like a great way to increase their original xbox downloads. They could do something generic with each of the games too; wouldnt be too hard to add them.

Exactly what I was thinking! Dark Athena looks really promising. Butcher Bay looked good but seeing it reworked and with an added campaign would be great. Butcher Bay was so short!

Panzer Dragoon Orta is amazing, luckily it works with BC. I was playing it just a few weeks ago. Love that game.

I know they are doing a remake. No release date yet, I'm thinking fall 2009 maybe.

Atari pegged it as a Spring release a few months ago.
