The American website for Animal Crossing: Wild World has just gone live. Direct your browsers here (http://www.animal-crossing.com/wildworld/) for a little teaser video of virtual life goodness.

I've always felt Animal Crossing is the video game embodiment of "Waiting for Godot".

Animal Crossing is such a cult game these days. Who would've thought?

Does anyone have any spare bells? I'm having a hard time dodging Tom Nook's racoon goons

Somebody spill the beans on the wifi multiplayer component. 4 players? Are they all in the town at the same time?

Three players can visit one of their friend's town (for a total of four) at the same time and chat, fish, hit each other with axes, whatever.

In addition to the wifi, I'm VERY happy that it has four people on one gamecard, and it plays just like the original Animal Crossing on the GC, except that you live in a single house, and as you expand it, you get different rooms.

This is an 11 minute long presentation by one of the US localization teams. They discuss the classic multiplayer on a single card, as well as show how the wifi play works. The is a MUST watch video.

It's the lower left video labeled "Animal Crossing DS Presentation (11/07/05)"

Can't wait. :)

I didn't like the GC one I'm getting this one just for the wifi thing, but the reason I wasn't such a big fan of the GC one is that it takes up too much time and I didn't feel like being chained to the tv, it won't be a problem here so I look forward to playing it :).

Yeah I can't think of many games more suiable to a portable. I always got sick of it after playing it for like 20 min. on the GC, but this mechanic is perfect for the DS. If I'm stuck somewhere and bored, I can just play my other life for a few minutes and be happy.

I actually got bored with the GC one because I'd run out of things to do after playing for half an hour or so and would have to wait for the next day to reset. Like the previous poster(s) said, this game should be a perfect fit for the DS. I'm really looking forward to it.

Sonuvabitch. Now I need to find $130 for a DS and $70 for 2 copies of the game (my wife has a DS, I don't sadly)
