Well, unless you were the Electronic Boutique dude with the gun in your face...Actually, that is rather humorous.

First of all, it's "desperate times call for desperate measures."
Secondly, what a dumbass. You're going away to pound-me-in-the-ass prison for armed robbery, and why? So you could play Kameo early, or hawk it to some poor bastard on eBay for a couple hundred? Yeah, that'll solve your problems. And he got caught anyway.

Something tells me JT is gonna have something to say about this, but the only difference now is that most people know he's retarded! YES!

First of all this makes all gamers look like punks. Second they will nab this moron the second someone connects the box to live.

Pay attention, they caught him right after it happened.

I carry to Gamespot since it's within walking distance. Would have been a rather unfortunate meeting for the thief if it happened around here. I wouldn’t recommend armed robbery of 360s.

*sigh*
My "assured" reservation didn't come through. I'm #10 on the list and they are only getting 7 premium units, so I'm reduced to standing in line for 6 hours (a friend and I are going to go together in an hour) to get mine. Scary thing is that one of the Wal-Mart's in town has stated that they are only getting 7 premiums too (we aren't going to that one). That means that we may have to repeat the little adventure tomorrow at Best Buy, by getting up at 4 AM.
Btw, there is not a release title that really has me that excited. I'm just an early adopter. . . so I COULD and SHOULD just wait it out and hope that the second shipment comes in time for me to play DOA4 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but I tend to think that if they are pumping them out as quickly as possible, it will still take a lot of time for the second shipment.
At least I'll finally have some use for this PSP. Going to watch Sin City in line. . . then I'll break out the DS for actual game playing.

I know he got caught, I am saying they would have caught him, it is a stupid robbery. Next thing the guy would steal a GPS.

I heard Grand Theft Auto or Thief 3 inspired him. Games are evil.

Actually, they aren't able to track them down through XBL, they don't have the tools. That's what I was told by XBL support when my Xbox was stolen recently. I had the idea that maybe they could track my Xbox if the guy tried to sign on to XBL, so I called up support and they said they don't have the necessary tools to do stuff like that. I still find it hard to believe, but that's what I was told.
Man, I wish I was cool enough to rob someone for a videogame system.

...Err, dude, some people have been waiting since Saturday. Many have started early this morning. I'm gonna go ahead and doubt your chances at Wal-mart.

HaHa. That is funny, I usually carry when I go to Gamestop also. Nothing huge like a Desert Eagle .50, but I'm sure I could get the job done.

At lunch I drove by the Walmart in my area (wanted to see if they were 24/7 or not, and they close at 11pm), the guy in electronics said that after employees got their dibs, that only 2 systems would make it to the people that were going to be in line...

Is it that unsafe that you have to carry when walking to gamestop?

Anything I can't kill with 8 shots doesn't deserve to die. :)Heck with that thing he'd probably wet himself and throw down his gun. And you could be all "Hey Bob, two days out and already you're stealing a 360. I wondered why you wanted to make parole by the 21st." :pIs it that unsafe that you have to carry when walking to gamestop? :confused:Apparently! There's guys with guns there trying to steal 360s. We just had a guy with a fully automatic assault rifle shoot up a mall as well during the middle of the day.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Why exactly do you guys need guns at the game store? I mean, I know it's kind of annoying when they push the preorders, but still...

I live in aus so I don't really know how it is over there, how many people are camping outside these stores?
If there's queues of a hundred and two xboxs... That's insane.
I deffinitely don't see those guys at smashmyxbox going ahead if they get one of the only two products at the store and arrive outside to the already angry eyes of 50 other people.
I had no idea how bad the shortage was, I knew all the main game stores were only getting around or under 10, but I thought these walmart and best buy places were sposed to be getting upwards of 30.
Good luck to any EAers out there in line right now.

Here is my plan: The local Costco is getting 46 Xbox 360 bundles (you pay $480 for 360 Premium, Project Gotham, an extra wireless controller, and a Play-and-Charge). With a premium Costco membership you get to shop an hour earlier than the people with a normal Costco card. So my friends wife and friends are going to go hit the place with their premium card and try and snag a system for me while I am at work.

no i wouldnt stand in line for that either unless it had those games which it wont
launch games are never any good
only system that had a really good launch game was n64 and it all went downhill after that. jsut saying there isnt any game system worth goign to so much effort for
its absolutley insane unless it had the greatest game ever on it
which the 360 launch doesnt, and either will the ps3

The concept of carrying a firearm to a game store is just so absurd to me, or anywhere for that matter.
Granted I live in Australia, but the only gun toting nuts around these parts are the poh-leece. You guys have some seriously fucked up values over there.

For the love of the game, why did he do it?!?!

I bet MS is gonna make a commercial about this: "X360 - So good and so few, you'll hold up a store at gunpoint for one...or two."
Guerilla marketing at it's finest.
