Valve sends along a Press Release announcing the launch of the first Electronic Arts titles on Steam (http://www.steamgames.com).

Valve today announced Spore, Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Mass Effect, Need for Speed Undercover and EA SPORTS FIFA Manager 2009 are available now to gamers in the United States and Canada via Steam, a leading platform for PC games and digital content with over 15 million accounts around the world.

In the coming weeks, Mirror's Edge, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, and Dead Space, will be added to the catalog of EA's titles available via Steam.Good news or is EA just dumping poor sellers onto Steam?

I hope EA releases some of their huge back catalog on Steam. Huge bundles with low prices would be awesome :P

if the cost of all the DRM mess is more good games on Steam, then maybe it was all worth it

This is kind of wacky... I hope this means that their existing digital distribution 'platform' is on its way out.

Yes, because WAR and Spore are tearing up the console charts.

Gotta ask, does this mean Spore DRM is going to be wrapped up in Steam DRM? I think that would be the world's worst toxic DRM soup.

Sweet, I hope the prices will be reasonable... I'm still pissed off because of the $ to € conversion.

Indeed, luckily we have PC targeted games Mass Effect, Need for Speed Undercover, Mirror's Edge and Dead Space to balance things out

As a EU customer, you don't have to worry about EA game pricing in Steam.. ... since they are not going to put any of these titles available for EU customers. As the news bit says, these will only be available for US/CAN customers.

In related news, I stopped supporting Steam and their 1:1 policy.

Hasn't stopped other developers from imposing securom on steam releases. Steam + securom + install limits = fuck off and die already you pricks.
