Has anyone played this one? I was thinking about adding it to my wish list.

i picked this up right when the re-reviews of the title came out, and 1up gave it a B+. my ps3 was in need of some love and i have enjoyed past socom titles.

this title gets my vote for shame of the year. with the state this title was released in, Sony and slant six should be ashamed. scopes didn't work, the game would crash to xmb, disconnect you from severs. inconsistent framerate, awful awful loading times often just to get disconnected as soon as you make it into the game.

the game had a big patch, and it certainly helped but the title is still pulled down by an awful and clunky UI, poor loading times and the disconnect issues and some of the worst texture pop in i have seen. When it works, it can be a lot of fun, but that fun makes up for few minutes of my time with this game.

i'm not a picky gamer, and can find fun in most titles. and i certainly don't push reviews but i would recommend reading through IGNs (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/925/925834p1.html) review of the title, as i find it very accurate.

the headset was nice.

The SOCOM/headset pack is worth it just for the mic. Slant Six didn't do a good job with Confrontation. Zipper Interactive will be missed. I second jacob.armitage's comments.

I think 2008 is finally a lesson to publishers not to rush titles out for Christmas.

Putting this out in a shitty state to go against the platforms own exclusives, never mind the huge amount of multi-platform competition, was stupid.

The only reason I picked it up was because of the bundle with the bluetooth headset. I thought hell an official Sony headset and a Socom game for 59! Why not?

Well it feels as though Slant6 abused the name of Socom. Used it's old popularity to push out units as fast as possible before reviews came out. It was odd how there were no reviews out on the game, it just seemed to arrive in stores. Then once players fired it up, they knew something was wrong. The game wasn't even done!

The state of which the game was released was a complete sham. Promised features on the back of the game box not delivered. So many disconnects and issues.

I've kept a small eye on socom.com about updates, it seems as the latest upcoming patch 1.30 will fix a lot of issues. Trophies will be added, lean features, dive to prone, ui enhancements, control enhancements and hundreds of bug fixes.

I will give it a chance after that patch comes out but I'm not holding my breath. I'm pretty sure I'll pop it in and say to myself "Time to fire up Battlefield Bad Company"

I also thought about getting it and my two friend who already had it highly recommended I avoided it.

It is apparently a buggy mess.
