Primotech has posted some award results (http://www.primotechnology.com/2008/12/14/live-winners-and-news-from-the-spike-2008-video-game-awards-show/) (Beware Spoilers) from the Spike TV 2008 video game awards, including news that a Gears of War 2 map pack titled, Combustible, will be released tonight at Midnight PTZ.

A barely-clothed Marisa Miller just announced on the 2008 Spike Video Game Awards that Microsoft will be releasing a ‘Combustible’ map pack tonight on Xbox Live Marketplace. It features three new maps, ‘Flood,’ ‘Gold Rush,’ and ‘Fuel Station,’ a multi-leveled Horde map.

Pricing was not announced, but we’ll know soon enough, as the DLC will be available in just a few hours, at 12 PM Pacific/3 AM East.

The Map Pack is 800 Points.

Three new maps announced, coming out tonight like the headline says. One is a level with immulsion, where the immulsion levels may rise forcing you to find highground or die.

Another one is a two-tiered level with a lot of perches for sniping.

The last.. I forget. It looked cool?

From what little I played of it last night, the match is over before the Immulsion starts flooding most of the time.

Ten bucks? Man...I haven't even touched Gears online at all. I just can't justify buying these maps, as a result. I'd get more enjoyment from my ten dollars if I peed on it, tossed it in a fire, and timed how long it took to burn.

You know that Gears 2 has bots don't you? I was playing against the bots last night since it took till about 12:30 before the maps were available to download.

I need to make more use of that...but I probably won't, just like with Perfect Dark Zero (which also had bots).

Of course, PDZ was a mess, and Gears is awesome! :)

Geeze.. $10 is an awful alot of money for only 3 maps. I'm really torn.. I want new maps but that seems more greedy then usual. 5 maps and I wouldn't hesitate, but only 3?.. hmmm.

Maybe they should focus on fixing Matchmaking and removing the glitching problems before they start charging $10 for a few maps.
