Awesome. I'm going to be playing Fallout 3 for a very long time methinks.
With the brisk sales of the game, and what looks like a pretty good editor, I look forward to some quality user-generated content. If I'd more time, I'd love to make a whole world myself. I might take a stab at something a bit more modest once exams / financial year-end wrap up.

I can't wait for someone to increase the level cap. I was really into it and completing all of the side quests until I maxed out, then my interest dropped dramatically. I want to play it again to find all of the stuff I missed, but I think I'm going to wait until some added incentive like an increased cap or the expansion(s).

It looks like the expansions won't use your primary game character. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. That rarely happens.

Time for nude patches (assuming they don't exist already).

Negative. The expansions (Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, and Broken Steel) all use your primary character. And the third expansion increases the level cap. I think that you meant that player-generated content won't use your primary character, which is probably correct.

Negatory. The Pitt and Broken Steel will use your primary character; Operation: Anchorage will not, as it is a simulation. You'll play as a US soldier while in the sim, according to an interview on IGN.

I thought it was still your primary character in Operation Anchorage, just with a different skin/equipment? As in, same skills, levels, etc?

That wasn't specified in the IGN interview. :-/ We could both be right, who knows! :D

Sweet! I've been familiarizing myself with this for the last few hours. The wiki (http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Main_Page) has a really thorough, well written tutorial. I'm really looking forward to seeing what people create.

Glad you're enjoying it...the team worked pretty hard on it.

As mentioned in the IGN interview, we expect it sometime before the launch of the new DLC (Operation: Anchorage) in January.

Wow, an already excellent game will become even more awesome.
BTW, mods for increasing the level cap are already out, have been for a while, and also nude mods. People were already modding FO3 before the GECK, but now they're gonna be able to do a lot more crazy stuff.
and the DLC missions are probably gonna play like the ones in Oblivion, Morrowind and Mass Effect, they appear inside the game, during the regular campaign, not necessarily AFTER it (except the BoS one, which they specifically mention allows you to continue the story).

I have gone to work just trying to get my feet wet, trying to make an autocannon-style weapon based off of the railgun model. I wanted it to use 308 rounds so I based it off the Sniper Rifle weapon. Well, I got the rate of fire up to where I wanted it, now I have to get the animation to match! It is funny to see the weapon jump without anything actually happening. Great editor though.
