XBox 360 Faceplate Design Contest

If you head on over Faceoff.co (http://www.faceoff.co.nr/) you can download a photoshop template to create an XBox 360 Faceplate. After that you can upload it to the site and enter the contest to have the faceplate produced! There's a ton of designs to check out as well, some of them are gorgeous.

I think I'll redo the EvilAvatar one I did a while back. You can see it at the top of my 1UP (http://bapenguin.1up.com) profile. Maybe some other people can try their hand at an EA design?

The only faceplates that look nice, IMO, are ones whose base color matches the console. The same white background color, but with some designs on it.

Otherwise it just looks ridiculous, having the face that doesn't match any of the rest of the hardware at all.

Like Penguin's faceplate, the black just clashes with the rest of the system. It looks kinda silly. Now, put the Evil Avatar logos on a background that matches the console, and I'd be into it.

I'm sure others disagree, and it's fine. They have no aesthetic sense, and that's OK. :)

No...you are right...the thing is...the console will most likely be sitting in a cabinet..or in an equipment stack, etc where only the faceplate will be seen. So even if it clashes, you aren't really going to notice.

This is one of the less interesting features of the 360 to me, but good luck to Penguin with the contest.

Hell I am at work with nothing to do unless someone plays a Sony CD or needs me to tell them their password isn't working because the caps lock key is on. Might as well see what I can come up with.

Or you can work in colors with the basic color of the xbox itself. I have some ideas that might work and look pretty rad myself.
