Seems that OSX is capable of being infected too (http://www.security.ithub.com/article/Sonys+DRM+Rootkit+Comes+in+Mac+Flavor+Too/165172_1.aspx):

Sony is reportedly pulling its digital rights management "rootkit" from the market. But it isn't reporting everything. "The Sony copy-protection software does not install itself on Macintosh computers or ordinary CD and DVD players," Reuters reported today. There's just one problem with that statement: it happens to be flat-out wrong. While the XCP version of copy protection is for Windows, there is another Mac-only version of copy protection installed by Sony/BMG CDs.
Well they did have a Linux kit for PS2, maybe that'll be reported next?

Nah, they know better than to mess with Linux. I'd give it a day before those open-sourcers figure out how to just completely bypass anything Sony puts on it's CDs.

....And they've also shown not just how tech savy they are, but how law savy they are. Heard of SCO lately?

Whoa whoa whoa. Notice that because of OSX security, nothing can install itself w/o permission. The report says that when you pop it in it ASKS to install itself, and needs your system username/password! I put a CD in my computer that does that, and right out it goes!

Exactly. I don't even think there is an autorun - when I put in a CD it just opens in iTunes. I think you have to manually browse the CD in Finder and run the app yourself, which then asks your for your system password. I'd be surprised if there were more than 5 installs on OSX out there.
