Activision: News of CoD: MW2 'Speculative'

VideoGamer is reporting (http://www.videogamer.com/news/04-12-2008-10107.html) Activision has told them that yesterday's news (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71488) about upcoming games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, is "speculative". Overnight reports from the US that mega-publisher Activision Blizzard will release new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk titles next year are "speculative", the company has told VideoGamer.com.

Despite the apparent validity of the news (Newsweek's much respected blogger N'Gai Croal twittered (http://twitter.com/ncroal) from the event), a representative from Activison Blizzard told VideoGamer.com this afternoon that the reports were "speculative as far as we're concerned". Too early to crank up the hype machine?

N'Gai Croal, originator of these so-called 'rumors' is one of the more trusted journalists in the industry. If he says MW2 is coming, I don't doubt for a second that it is coming next year.

Damn, when I first glanced at the headline and saw CoD:MW 2, I thought Call of Duty: Mechwarrior 2! Damn was I disappointed.
