Gamecloud has posted an interview (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=2313) with Penny Arcade's Mike Fehlauer, talking about the newest holiday charity fund drive, Child's Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/).
Gamecloud: How are hospitals selected to benefit for Child's Play?
Mike Fehlauer: Seattle Children's was easy because it's a world-class hospital right in our backyard. The following year SCH hooked us up with their colleagues, and we actively sought out hospitals around the US so that a reader would at least have a hospital in the same time zone. This year, with the help of readers who volunteered to make initial introductions, we've added even more hospitals--including hospitals outside the US. We work with pretty much any and every hospital that approaches us, as long as they're focused on the care of children and they agree to make donated videogames available to all patients. Again, the goal is to have a participating hospital close to any contributor.
I should talk to them next year about adding Phoenix Children's Hospital (http://www.phxchildrens.com/) to the list. They are an amazing place that has helped our own family several times now (And they already provide video games to the kids.).
