A month and a half ago (http://evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67211), we learned that the Castle Crashers patch that everyone wants was approaching certification then nothing happened. It looks as though they may have failed certification but are ensuring us that it is indeed coming and they're still working on it. Xbox360Fanboy (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/12/01/the-behemoth-release-of-castle-crashers-patching-nearing-end-o) has the word:

"We're working with Microsoft to get the title update out as quickly as we can. Sadly, we can't get into details about the certification process, but we've resolved the game's issues with data loss and networking in addition to other bugs. We can't really comment on the release yet as we're not allowed to talk about it because of Microsoft, but the update's release is definitely reaching the end of the process.

We've received great support from our fans on our forums in identifying issues. That feedback has helped out a lot and we're really honored to have such an awesome group of fans in the community."

Sounds like they are frustrated with the certification process. What is your take?

I'm way beyond caring at this point.

I had my fun with it, played through it all and now I'm done with it.

I'm sure Ill play it again, but it wont be for a while and I doubt Ill ever go back to it for too long.

Kind of makes me wish I still played Castle Crashers.

I couldn't agree more. I played it and had fun, definately got my money's worth. Doubt I will be going back.

They released a broken game 2 years late and now they wait till no one cares to fix it. Good timing, fellas.

It's a shame, because like many others, I've had my fun with the game (loved it, despite the serious issues), and I've moved on.

I never bothered playing online because of the data-loss problems in particular (NO WAY I was going to lose my game save), and that was a major selling-point for many. It's nice they're still working on it, but it's too late for many.

Co-op was incredibly frustrating. Moved on.

Too late. Maybe its time for them to lower their price point to 800 points.

Gotta echo the sentiment, even though it's overwhelming.

Great game. Had my fun. Really sucked that I never got to play online co-op due the bugs. Did still really enjoy local co-op. A bug-fix patch doesn't really matter anymore, because all my friends and I have moved on.

Let me know when there's a sequel.

You must not be very good at reading...

They started working on a patch the very first day issues were reported. The patch has been completed for quite some time...but it got lost in certification hell and, as such, still isn't available to the public.

Besides, the game was far from broken; only the online multiplayer was essentially inoperable. Granted, this was a feature many vocal people were interested in...the game itself was still more than playable and offline multiplay was a blast.

I don't see how it was released two years late, though...that statement reeks of internet hyperbole, to me.
