Sega sends along word that Condemned: Criminal Origins (Xbox 360), Shadow the Hedgehog (Xbox, PS2, Cube) and Sonic Rush (DS) are now shipping.

Condemned: Criminal Origins

SEGA of America, Inc. today announced that its upcoming first-person psychological thriller Condemned: Criminal Origins has shipped to retailers nationwide and is available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Described by Official Xbox Magazine as "suspenseful, scary, and downright twisted," Condemned: Criminal Origins allows players to experience a heightened level of psychological tension as they use their instincts, forensic tools, and melee combat to track serial killers and bring them to justice.

Condemned: Criminal Origins is rated "M" (Mature) by the ESRB and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $59.99. For more information about Condemned: Criminal Origins, please visit www.condemnedgame.com (http://www.condemnedgame.com/).

Shadow the Hedgehog

SEGA of America, Inc. today announced the release of Shadow The Hedgehog for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, and the Xbox video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. In his first solo effort, Shadow the Hedgehog takes to the streets with a huge array of weapons and vehicles in search of his true identity. Shadow has a choice to make – will he use his great powers for good or evil?

Shadow The Hedgehog is rated "E-10" for ‘Everyone age 10 and up' by the Entertainment Software Review Board, and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $49.95.

Sonic Rush

SEGA of America, Inc. today announced the release of Sonic Rush on the Nintendo DS. Described by GameSpot.com as "the best Sonic game in nearly a decade", this fast-paced side-scrolling adventure uses both of the Nintendo DS screens in displaying its play field. This setup maximizes the intensity of the game's dizzying dives, near-vertical curves, extreme jumps, and brain-twisting loops.

Sonic Rush is rated "E" for ‘Everyone' by the Entertainment Software Review Board, and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $34.95.

I'm leaning toward getting the King Kong game. The first movie tie-in title I've purchased in a long time.

Does the $59.99 MSRP bother anyone? Those extra $10 bucks are a little silly, if you ask me. It probably wont last long, though... Hopefully...

Get used to it, that's the next gen price scheme. It'll probably make alot of people hold off on purchasing games until they've been out a while. Between this and micropayments, I'm slowing down on game buying unless its a guaranteed hit.

Well that's also part of the reason I am buying the two 1st party titles and remain on the fence with the others. It might be an arbitrary barrier, but $60 for a game is heading in the wrong direction. If gaming is to become a more diversified and popular market, the prices need to go DOWN not UP. They need to work on expanding their userbase, not increasing the retail prices, which will actually end up shrinking their base. And I'm certainly cool with games just becoming shorter and being cheaper as an intermediatary option. Give me a 10 hour game for $29 and we're cool.

I'm aware that what makes this second option less feasible is that the costs of development are heavier geared towards the production of the fundementals of the game (the graphics engine, game mechanics etc) and that decreasing the size wouldn't necessarily make things any cheaper. However, using this same engine to churn out a few smaller games rather than one larger game would potentially solve this problem.

I'll be gettin Sonic Rush. Its about time they made a side scroller Sonic that seems good. IGN's review says that it may be the best sonic game, with a rating of 9.0. Im all over this and Mario Kart, its a great time to be a DS owner.

The sad thing is that the games are getting shorter and more expensive at the same time.

I've personally lost all interest in Sonic games now that Ryan Drummond- THE voice of Sonic, along with all other series actors- have been replaced by the assholes who supply the voices for that damn Sonic anime.

Let's face it, Sonic hasn't exactly been very vocal since they started doing the voiceacting thing for Sonic Adventure and all that... and when they did speak, it was like having your ears slowly removed with a cheese grinder.

Anyway, I will be getting Sonic Rush. Sonic Advance 3 rocked so much.
