Shhh don't tell anyone...they made an entirely new engine for Madden and Live. So, they had to spend more money than if they made a simple PS2 to Xbox port.

Wow. They've cut prices on games that have been out for months now. Amazing holiday spirit those folks at Electronic Arts have. They seem to actually do it year round!

That's a new engine for Madden? Could of fooled me. Was recreating all the flaws part of the design docs?

I'm not spending 60 bucks on a single game EVER. That's my personal boycott on the price hike bullshit. Problem is, people will still dish out that extra cash, because what's another 10 dollars? And then next round, when it's up another 10 dollars, what's another 10 dollars on top of 60?

Pfft. It's not like I need games THAT bad. I'll get them when they drop in price a bit. I hope Greatest Hits games still wind up being 20 bucks, and not 30 now.

Ebay my friends, even at this point. I'm not a big renter on good games. Like Shadow of the Collosus. I know its a good game, but I can't spend 40 for 10 hours, but 20 is alright with me. I'd buy it, because 20 is like 2.5 rentals, and it's probably one of those game's you'd play more than once.

I'll buy many games new, or get them for gifts, the ones I know are awesome. Though, starting recently I've decided to wait on games (like the new ratchet, definently will pick it up, but for 20.

Excellent point. Except that's why nobody bought Phantasy Star IV and we saw how well that worked out for the Nintendo 64.

I'm no longer buying brand new games if they're all $60. The only 360 launch titles I'll probably pick up (assuming I get a 360 at all yet) are the first party ones at $50.

Penny Arcade needs to put that on a t-shirt.

Hmm, or maybe EA could start a store....

I would rather have a shirt that said, "Go eat a bag of dicks!"

Yeah, and that sucked. I bought Perfect Dark for $60, and less than a year later it was down to $10 at many places. I might as well have just bent over the counter and dropped my drawers.

Don't worry. After '06, you won't have to go through the stressful transition to a new Madden engine for another six years.
