Ugh, I've heard that horrible joke 4 times today. Starting with Mr. Stapled Stomach Weather Man on the Today show and now ending with Evil.

Someone slap agent for me. ;)

So, is Chicken Little that good, or do the rest of the movies out this fall suck that much?

If the commercials and trailers are any indication - the rest of the movies out this fall suck that much.

The one thing that is really cool is that the success of Chicken Little has thrown a real scare into Pixar (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,176-1869250,00.html). They thought they could just break away from Disney and strike out on their own and now they aren't so sure.

I'll be 'chicken' out Chicken Little this weekend, unless I get derailed by a shopgirl selling me some prime ribs.

Sorry... I'll get my coat.

For a second I thought your post read:

Made me want to beat an atheist

That is what my post read, the entire movie had very subtle hints that the main character was very much an atheist. His reading Camus' The Stranger and his wanting his dog tags to read "no preference" are both examples of that. I liked the way they contrasted his atheism with the other soldiers' religiousness. It really showed that everyone has different reasons for going to war.

Took the kiddo to see Chicken Little on Saturday and we both enjoyed it quite a bit. Best CGI movie I've seen since Incredibles last year. A few jokes aimed at the older people made a difference for me. It wasn't Pixar quality, but close. They should be a little worried.

I think they still can, but they definitely aren't going to have the playground to themselves like they might have thought they would.

So did anyone think Jarhead was incredibly boring? Some cool parts to move the snail pace along, but that's about it.

What is Walter Lantz's pecker called?

Why is this a good thing? Do you have some great reason for wanting Pixar to stay with Disney, the company that kept screwing them over?

This sort of brings up a pet peeve of mine. Anyone else get annoyed when any animated movie is referred to as a "Disney" film, regardless of who made it? Same goes for computer animated movies all being from "those Toy Story guys." What the heck? These same types would flip out if I said something like "Yeah, I saw the Detroit Broncos game today."

Just a little ranting...

Haha, yeah. How dare those plucky young twerps at Pixar try to jump ship! Of course, I'm sure Pixar is fully aware there are other companies capable of making hit CGI movies. I heard Shrek 1 and 2 made a few dollars.

Not really, I'm just amused by the drama.

The commercials and trailers are wrong then. I went and saw Zathura at rottentomatoes.com's recommendation, and I found it a GREAT movie. Best kids movie I've seen since the Iron Giant, really hit everything on the head. If you've got to choose, FUCK chicken little and go see Zathura instead.

Better than Iron Giant? Now I have to go see Zathura - I loved Iron Giant! Chicken little was actually really good - I definitely reccommend it to anyone with kids, as well as anyone who is still capable of enjoying a decent kids movie. If you like Zach Braff (Scrubs) it also makes it fun to watch.

I'd say as good as Iron Giant, not better. Just in the same level of classic, at least, it really worked for the me and apparently the audience I saw it with.
