If you haven't gotten enough malaria or blood diamonds, then you're in for a treat. By the end of the month, you'll be able to download the "Fortune's Pack" which will add more stuff to the already detailed African landscape. Too bad for PC users though, this looks like its only for Xbox and Playstation for the low low price of $9.99. From Gamespy (http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/far-cry-2-/932627p1.html):

The Fortune's Pack DLC for Far Cry 2 will include:

Single-Player Mode
Three brand-new weapons
# Silenced shotgun
# Sawed-off shotgun
# Crossbow

Two new vehicles
# Unimog
# Quad

Multiplayer Mode
Four new exciting maps
# Cheap Labor
# Last Resort
# Lake Smear
# Fort Fury

* New single-player weapons and vehicles also available in multiplayer

Actually, that seems kind of expensive for what you're getting.

Yeah, too bad for those PC users. Paying 10$ for a paltry amount of additions. I can't even stand to play Far Cry 2's multiplayer. Matchmaking is a retarded concept for finding a multiplayer game.

I heard from another site that this will come out as a free patch for the PC version in a month or so. It's really not that good of an upgrade.

This stuff sucks, add the African predators and I may play this shitty game.

I'm casually playing through on PC in between bouts of GoW2 and L4D.

The Ubisoft guys get so much right: the feel of the guns, grenades, explosives. I like the weapon and health system. I think the landscape is nothing short of spectacular.

Mission structure, however, is repetitive. Go here, kill everyone. Go there, kill everyone (and blow up this building).

That being said, it's still a blast to play. Fast-travel, properly employed, eliminates the common "too long to get there" complaints.

However, I don't think it's a great MP game, and extra missions only give me the same "go here, start fighting" objectives as before. Not necessary. Extra weapons are appreciated, but I somehow doubt I'll be employing the "Silent Shotgun" much, as my play style usually has me lighting the place aflame, then mopping up the crowds as they run for safety. Good times.

Anyhow - this patch isn't necessary, and IMHO there is already too much to do in that game, all of it involving a car ride followed by 'splosions.

$10 for that? I'll pass. Break up the DLC into separate packs (guns/vehicles/maps) and cut the price - a lot - and I might be interested...
