MCV has word (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/32427/Warner-Bros-swoops-for-Terminator-rights) that Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has acquired the rights to publish a game based on the upcoming movie, Terminator Salvation. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has signed up the distribution and publishing rights to the new game based on action film Terminator Salvation.
The third-person shooter is due next year alongside the Warner Bros Pictures and Sony Pictures movie, putting players in the shoes of Christian Bale's John Connor character.
The game has come to market by an elaborate but successful rights deal - new Hollywood games firm Halcyon Games is overseeing the project which is published by Equity Games, co-published by Evolved Games and distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
“Terminator Salvation – The Videogame allows players to battle for survival against Skynet enemies utilizing an incredibly fluid and realistic control set,” said Cos Lazouras, president of Halcyon Games.Surely there's no chance of an epic fail on this one.
lost - It looks like Bionic Commando developer GRIN has been signed up for this.
