This is the list (http://www.gamersreports.com/index.php?sid=4406) of core and premium systems being shipped to BestBuy stores nationwide...the list is categorized by store number. To find your Bestbuy store number visit www.bestbuy.com and go to store locator. This is pretty useful for people that are planning on going to their local Best Buy on launch day since they will know what kind of chance they have at getting a system.

46 of the bundles here, 50-something total. Not that it matters to me :p

My only worry still about the whole pro/core thing, is that if the 360 does sell out across the board, MS will have no marketing data to understand that people may have actually preferred one over the other, and how to proceed from there. Even with very casual gamers that I've talked to, they all plan to go for the pro version, or as they've described "the one with the harddrive". I really wish MS would have backed out of this whole double SKU mess.

Or stay up late as the case may be. In my opinion, too many good launch games have been delayed for me to even consider waiting in a line for an Xbox360. I might find myself getting one in March or April next year when there is more than racing and sports titles available. The price for admission might have decreased by $50 or so by then as well. Not saying the system isn't good or great just that they have delayed too many titles for a launch day mad rush to be "worth it" for me. Your results may vary.

So you suspect a $50 dollar price cut a little over 4 months after launch...interesting.

Sure, a few games have been pushed back...but there are some gorgeous titles still out there. I've got one pre-ordered for launch day....but I may have to pick up an E-Bay system on launch day too!

I don't suspect anything. I am hoping this will happen. It's unlikely (as that is mostly what you are implying) but I can still hope.

gamestop/eb just got their numbers cut by 2 more per store, so bestbuy is looking better and better....

MS is f-ing up. There really is no other way to put it. Those guys need to find away to produce more (working) units...fast.

I'm suprised this info got public so quickly, we (store #170) just got this info this morning and we were told very firmly not to reveal our exact allocation numbers to customers. In any case, 52 units = warzone.

You guys are lucky. The Target I work at just got our allocation numbers, and they're significantly less.

actually these low numbers won't make a warzone. they will make life in retail in easy job that day. "no we don't have it, no we don't have it, no we don't have it..."

It looks like my store should have enough. I can't imagine more than 40 people lining up at this BB to get one. I have one reserved at GR, but I don't have much faith in that. I'm 8th with 2 employees also in front of me, which puts me at 6 on the list. The thing I hate is MS has the sales pitch already written when they are out of pros. "Well you can just add the hard drive later to one of these dozen green box core systems", or "if you don't have an HDTV then you don't need a Pro system."

Oblivion was the deciding factor for me, and we all know what happened with that, so I'm not even hyped up about the system right now. I'll be Mario Karting it over the holiday anyway....

MS is doing a remarkable job of rolling this stuff out. You guys have no concept how hard and ambitious it is to do a roll out like this... Unfreakin'believable.

I still don't think there is enough incentive to buy one right off the bat. I'll wait 5-6 months for the price cut that always comes.

Oh well, at least now that I know there is probably not going to be an Xbox360 around here for me to purchase on launch day, I will not find myself pulling one of the credit cards out and making a mad dash anywhere searching for one.

I have to much stuff I want to pick up this month as it is. Maybe around the time Oblivion hits I can have saved enough change to pick up the 360 and Oblivion.

I really find myself not very excited about the Xbox360 for some reason, I would like one, but I know that I can not spend the $500-600 I know I would end up spending in the next two months on the system and a few games. I really think I am going to end up waiting for at least the release of the Playstation 3 before I decide to pick a 360 up, as then I will have a choice, and probably a price break as well and hopefully a lot of good (and some cheap) titles to choose from instead of the current launch lineup that really does not excite me all that much.

I'm with ya on this one.
I think I know why ( well for me anyway). My theory is that this gen isn't that great. It's not like the jump from 2d to 3d that made us all wet our pants. Or like the last gen, which basically improved it. This gen just slightly pushes the bar higher, which isn't enough to get excited about.

Either that or we have to accept the truth that we are getting older.

Anyway, Bestbuy...Store (485)

36 Pro, 12 core.

The 360 should come out Spring og '06. More units, full bw compatibility list, great launch titles, no need for cutting features from a game....I understand what MS is doing, but they really should have waited.

I'm not picking up a 360, but I'll tell you what; if I were, it wouldn't be at a store known for electronics, like Best Buy or EB/Gamestop. It would be somewhere like Target or Wal-Mart, or whatever.

Our local Best Buy (#369, whooo!) only gets 38. I wonder if they'll sell out.

I'm actually having second thoughts on waiting. It's academic as I don't have the money for either system. But if I did, I'd probably be in line trying to get a Pro system. A buddy of mine called me yesterday to say he had seen a 360 running at CompUsa and it was very impressive.

When the PS2 came out, the Wal-Mart Supercenter up the road from where I lived had a line that stretched a long, long way throughout the store leading to the midnight release of that console. The Target across the street had a line outside the store leading to the morning opening of the store. I'm guessing a similar situation will occur this time around as well.

As for those not very excited about this upcoming generation (speaking of Xbox only), while I understand where you're coming from, I wouldn't really judge the launch title screenshots as the full potential of the system. If I'm not mistaken, a few of the launch titles are ports of currently existing Xbox games. Those games definitely shouldn't be used as examples of what the system is capable of. I think a year from now we might be seeing titles that take advantage of 60-75% of what the system is capable of.

Fuck interesting. I wouldn't say March or April but I do raise an eyebrow to May at next E3. Shit seemed fucked up with they did it with the Xbox. I know that price cut was to be on par with PS2. And everyone thinks PS3 is going to be atleast $100 over Xbox 360 regardless. So why bother with a price cut? MS seems the type to try and grab as much attention as they can from PS3 whenever it does come around. And E3 is when most that info drops anyways. Launch games have been pushed back and I figure I have tons of XBox 1 games I haven't even finished. I can wait. Don't dupe me into buying a system for $50 more and then come with price cut in less than a year.

My pre-order through Gamestop is so far back that I *might* have a system by Christmas according to the manager of the store. I have a slim chance my sister who works for a chain of stores that falls under the Wal-Mart umbrella will be able to buy a Xbox 360 system before the store opens on the 22nd for me. There is no discount on the system, but nevertheless if she can get one then I'll be stoked. If not, I'll wait it out. There are more than enough Xbox, GC, and PC games to keep me busy. Besides, if it looks bleak for even getting it at Xmas I'll finally pop for a PS2 and get my sweaty hands on God of War and Shadow of the Colossus.
Either way, it's going to be a geek-filled Xmas in the Everlost house. Even with the looming cloud of despair that is the Delphi/GM bankruptcy/strikes that could come to the surface as soon as Dec 16. No, I do not work for either company but my Dad, friends, and freind's spouses do. And living in/near a GM-centric city/state the effects of this will be felt by everyone.

Did I mention I am stuck at work today and have had waaaay to many cups of coffee?

It all depends on wether or not this is an organized marketing campaign, or are they really having trouble meeting demand. Since they have two fabs per IC, I feel they are shorting on purpose to get word-of-mouth but come december there will be more. Since there are no AAA titles at launch, I can wait till I walk into a store and see one to buy. If that happens next week, so be it if not no big deal..there is a lot to play right now.

i can't believe nobody has thought about costco. i work at the prescott one and we are getting like 45 bundles on the 21st. i ought to know because i unload the trucks here. almost every costco in the country will have the bundle on the 22nd and it will be 479.99. item number is 155555. NOT TO MENTION our unbeatable return policy if anything breaks. that is the only place i would buy one but i guess it is just me.....:) not sure what the bundle includes but i know it is an extra wireless controller and 1 or two games. i am sure it is a good deal for 79.99 more than the plain pro system. and the bundle does include the pro not the core.

Fact of the matter, it isn't like people can go out and buy a revolution or ps3 because ms isn't shipping enough xbox360 units. They don't have to bust their asses(read: waste money)making sure everybody on the entire planet who wants an xbox360 on day one gets one.

I expect there'll be plenty sitting on the shelves by christmas, especially if no must-have title shows up.
