Fans (like me) rejoice! Ubisoft intends to fuel your PoP addiction with plenty of DLC following the games release which may extend to an entire extra game. Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net) has more.

Ubisoft producer Ben Mattes has said downloadable content for the new Prince or Persia game is very much part of the plan, and will add "significant value" - perhaps even as much as an entire prequel or sequel.

"We certainly have plans for downloadable content, [but] we can't really say more than that right now," Mattes told Gamersyde in a video interview.

"The intention is to do downloadable content that adds significant value, so I don't think you'll see downloadable content of a new skin or a new weapon or something like that.

"If we're going to do it, it's going to be a new story, a new experience, maybe a prequel, maybe a sequel - we're going to do something that really offers a lot of value for the player. In terms of when: sometime next year - I'm not sure of exactly when, it's all still in discussion."

I'm not sold on this game yet...I wonder about the gameplay, myself, and how tight and entertaining of an experience it will be.

Yeah because every retail release comes with it's own prequel.

Jog on.

The game play is tight. The experience is interesting. The only question is the death system-as in there isn't one. In the Sands of Time series you could rewind time but there were limitations to that. In the new series, your magical girlfriend just catches you and sets you on safe ground every time you fall. If you weren't a fan of Bioshock's regeneration chambers you'll absolutely hate this.

I personally think this is the smartest thing that game companies can do to insure future revenue. It has been debated for a while how they can avoid the secondary used resale market, this really is the answer.

Wit each new generation of hardware make your game, then offer the same generation sequel as downloadable content that requires the origional game to be in the system to play. Lower the price to account for cutting out the middle-man some and it is win/win all around.

People don't sell games that are good in anticipation of the sequel, developers are not cut short on the second hand market, and consumers save money on the downloadable full games.

Win/win for all but those who lack an ineternet.
