No, that would be the, "leave it on the store shelf and never speak of this "game" ever again patch". Sadly it is in beta testing right now and will not release in time to keep people from wasting their cash.
But seriously I remember the same thing happening to ETM, the game came out and right from the start the game was crashing all over the place, console versions too. Sadly it's not just Shiny, quality control for PC games as a whole has gone to hell in a handbasket.

I would place blame mostly on the producer and anyone that tells him or her that the product must ship without fixing obvious errors. QA finds alot of wrong, but alot is let go, cause you know you can just patch it later.

Make a Mortal Kombat style game where you play one character fighting endless Agent Smiths. Maybe let Neo run down a hallway fighting Smiths, fights Smiths in a big open room, fight more Smiths in an office tower and finally fight Smiths in a large computer server room.

COME ON!!! How many wasted projects will it take to make this game?

I'm playing it right now on Xbox and it's a pretty fun diversion until the 360 hits. Parts of it are really ugly, but other parts are not that bad and the combat system is actually pretty sweet. It's much better than Enter the Matrix...for sure.

What I can say with total confidence about Shiny and the matrix license?

Continuity of complete and total disappointment, in graphics, in gameplay. They had some great ideas, I'll give them that, but frame rate slow ups, the combat system definitely lacking polish, the graphics itself being worthy of only ps1 generation games, I mean take a look of the neo shots? he looks TERRIBLE.

This game would have been treated better in the hands of a developer who knows how to treat a game with source material with almost an infinite amount of potential better. It's really unfortunate that Shiny was in charge of this developing this, I'll concede that MDK was good, sacrifice was intriguing, and if messiah wasn't a bug ridden fatal to continuance of the game that it was good, but Shiny has just totally proven to me that they are so unworthy.
