Oh Sam and Max, don't play games with our hearts again, they can only take so much.

Oh man. Beautiful. Cannot WAIT for new Sam and Max stuff, and just from the tone of the little material on the site, it sounds like the guys know what they're doing with the property and have the right attitude about it.

The Sam & Max game has to be good to save the point-n-click adventure genre... which just so happens to be my favourite genre.

Is this going to be in "3D" or like the original series? Thats all I really want to know.
I loved the Monkey Island series but when they went 3D with that godawful "Escape from Monkey Island" ... It left a bitter taste in my mouth. Or it could be all this coffee

It will be mouse driven 3d, like Bone. So, it will play just like Sam & Max, but with shiny 3d graphics.

Sam 'n' Max is teh roxxors!!!!
Seriously, I'm excited about this. I like Sam and Max as characters, but I'm a bit hesitant that any writing team can capture the magic of the first game. As with most sequels (and Peter Molenux games), I'm conservative, but hopeful.
(At the moment, I'm also drunk, so fuck you guys)

"Sam & Max" and "The Longest Journey 2"... can the adventure game be experiencing a slight rebirth?

Adventure gaming's been (finally) on the rise again for a while. It's just been a slow, gruelling, painful rise.

Steve Purcell is involved, so I wouldn't worry about that.

The Longest Journey 2? Are you fucking kidding me? You could have at least mentioned Phoenix Wright, or Farenheit, or Bone, instead of the sequel to that hack game. I love adventures (I have a fucking Grim Fandango tattoo for fucks sake), but I am not nearly starved enough to play that after the crappy original.

I need pictures of this Grim Fandango tattoo (as long as it's not on a particularly sensitive area)!

My exgirlfriend just came and visited me. I know, lame. Anyways. Ten minutes before she left, she says to me, "Hey, have you heard of the game 'Psychonauts'?" "Of course," I say, "I own it." "Well," she tells me, "I met they guy who made it."
What?
"What?" I say. "You met Tim Schafer?"
"Is that his name?" she says. "Yeah, I have a friend who works for Double Fine. He invited me to their Christmas party. He seems like a cool guy."
I stood and stared at her slack-jawed for a moment. I had no words. And then I said, "Well, you could have said something about it." Then I saw her off at the bus station. And that's the last time I will ever talk to her, and the closest I will ever come to Tim Schafer and the greatest fucking games ever made -- Monkey Island 1 & 2, Maniac Mansion, Zack McCracken, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max Hit the Road, Grim Fandango and ... well, I guess that's it. Those are all of the greatest games ever made.
Good night, gentlemen. Until there is a massive LucasArts reissue campaign for the DS, I am going to bed ...

Simply by posting underneath Harlan Hoyt I feel as if I have somehow interacted with Tim Schafer. God, I really hope this game is good.

To be fair, she probibally didn't know that you wanted to make sweet love, down by the fire, with Tim Schafer. :D

I bought a damn good bootleg dvd off eBay awhile back. Very professional, not to mention near-perfect video quality.
