In Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, players will be introduced to the world of Ashan, the new setting for all future Might & Magic games. Ashan is a dark and unforgiving world, scarred by a bloody history and threatened by an apocalyptic prophecy: the Dark Messiah.
Players will embody the young hero Sareth, who has been trained in the arts of magic and war in order to battle the prophetic Dark Messiah. Players will have the choice to become expert warriors, mages or assassins, each with their own cache of devastating weapons and spells to use in battling huge and vicious enemies. Through combat, players will unlock new skills and equipment, advancing Sareth's experience and improving his performance, battle combos, hits, spells and techniques and setting his course for his destiny.

This game is climbing up my most anticipated list EXTREMELY quickly!

Jesus, that's pretty. But again, it relies solely on action. Damn, I want Might and Magic 10!! Give me more RPGing! As much as 7 and 8 were cookie cutter copies of 6, I enjoyed them immensely. I own 9 but have never played it. Maybe that's a good thing.

Allow me to once again be the voice of doom. Remember Crusaders? Warriors? Legends? No or not fondly?
Because they sucked.
I have no doubt in my mind that they'll be able to disappoint on this one too.

9 had its moments, but 6-8 outshone it. Especially 6.

I just like all the different things that you can do, like freeze the fucking ground, and a guy will trip on it! And there is a ton of RPG elements if I remeber correctly.

yeah, this game is looking really great. It looks like it's really going to take advantage of source in the same way half life 2 did with physics. The freedom to use magic to kill guys in the way you want to is very exciting

I enjoyed Crusaders, a while back, got it for like 5 bucks, and I really enjoyed it....

I'm thinking that this game is going to use the Havok physics engine more than HL2, if you ask me.

Keep in mind that this Might & Magic game is not being made by New World Computing, the original creators of the Might & Magic franchise and the developers of all the previous Might & Magic games (except Warriors and Crusaders). Ubisoft snatched up the Might & Magic license when 3DO when belly up.

Still looking good. Here's hoping this one shapes up to be a gem in the dodgy Might and Magic game history.

" Developed by the heroic fantasy experts at Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis)" with the Halflife 2 engine should be good.
This and Oblivion ... looking good for the Xbox399.

I just caught that bit about Arkane Studios. Man, if the devs from Arx Fatalis are doing this, I'm totally on board with this title. I never did finish M&M VII or VIII, too Bard's Taleish w/out the Bard's Tale for me. But Arx, now there was a fun FP style game even if it had little replay (at least for me).

Where does it say it is being made for 360? Did I missed a PR?
So far it is PC (check the official PR) only and it better stay that way.

You might be right, but there' something that gives me hope: This game is developed by Arcane Studios and the very talented Raphael Colantonio, who brought us the hidden gem called Arx Fatalis...

I was coming here to say - I've not heard of it coming to the 360.

BAD MOVE Kelegacy. Download the latest FAN-MADE patch for MM9 and enjoy it. It's really better than 7 and 8. Lots of people hate it but I don't get the hate - M&M9 is the best M&M game since M&M6.
Of course World of Xeen obliterates every other part but still 9 is worth playing through. The Ice Fortress is one top dungeon when it comes to atmosphere.

From the article:
Developed by the heroic fantasy experts at Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis), Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is scheduled on PC worldwide in 2006.
360 = wishful thinking!

I'm excited about this game. Did we actually see anything new in these screens, though? Granted, I just looked at a couple, but they seemed like what I'd already seen, so I gave up.
