Computer and Video Games has posted a review (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=201341) (PS3 version) of DICE's new action/adventure game, Mirror's Edge. They gave it a final score of 9.0. These few moments aside, though, Mirror's Edge is an extraordinary and special game. It's beautiful and stylish like nothing else on PS3, and skews the over-worked mechanic of first person shooting into a new, daring and - when it clicks - brilliant direction. Mirror's Edge is a multi-platform title. You can find more info and media at the official (http://www.mirrorsedge.com/) site.

Of course it's a multiplatform title. We wouldn't want to miss that now would we? :)

After playing the demo, I sold Fable 2 to a friend and put $35 down on Mirror's Edge. Can't wait to pick it up.

Oddly enough my client today brought it up, a casual gamer. He said he was a 100 percent sure it was ps3 only, his reason? Because its said PS3 on the ad on tv.
This definitely looks like a cool idea. Not sure it will keep me interested beyond a couple of levels, but the idea looks very cool. Reminds me very much of the couriers in some William Gibson stories.

I think a 9 will be on the high side on average for this. The demo didn't impress IMHO.

Proclaiming that everyone else will share your opinion makes it the opposite of humble.
Too many games. I'll take a pass for now. Maybe Santa will send this one along.

I thought the "H" in IMHO stood for honest, not humble.
Anyway, I downloaded the 360 demo but haven't played it yet. Too caught up in L4D.
Mirror's Edge seems to be a great, fun source of motion sickness.

Mrow, down there tigerboy.
Memo: No one's allowed to have fun on the internet when Vandenh's around. It gets his dander up.

Just funning a bit at your expense. The abbreviation can stand for either.

Seeing as I actually liked the demo, I'll pick this up in a week or two when I've got a bit more cash on hand.

The demo was cool.
I don't get this motion sickness thing. I even turn off the reticule.
What causes it?

The presence of a brain, most likely.
Sorry, the door was wide open etc... ;)

Just because Penny-Arcade said it doesn't make it true.
That strip was the first time I had heard of anyone complain about motion sickness. I mean, c'mon; it's not like this game is any worse than any other first-person game.
EA feeds us the same game for years and people complain. When they finally give us something new...people complain. Christ. Make up your minds, folks.

There are some people who get vertigo from playing first person shooters and a game like this with constant head bob and a camera constantly in motion can get them really sick, really fast.

Oh, I know. It happens pretty frequently...but it's never used as an actual complaint against the genre. For some reason, however, a few people seem to think it's a real, legitimate negative talking point against the game.
It sucks that people who suffer from vertigo while playing first-person games can't play Mirror's Edge. Or Bioshock. Or Team Fortress 2. Or any other first-person game.
It's not the game's fault.

My sisters coming over tomorrow night so we can play through it, over Wendys and cheap American beer.

This game is worse than any other ever created on that front. Stop trying to say it's not.

IMO I will never understand the hype behind this piece of junk.
