Paraworld combes for the first time ever a setting never seen before with personalized unit management, it brings new life to the real-time strategy genre. Modern elements blend with primeval conditions in a long forgotten, incredibly beautiful prehistoric world. Creatures long extinct come once more to life, a constant danger to anyone living in the area.
In this 3D real-time strategy game players command their troops from dizzying heights, enthroned upon the heads of mighty dinosaurs and other tremendous beasts. Players command their troops both with and against dinosaurs in a prehistoric setting as incredibly dangerous as it is beautiful.Check out 12 new Paraworld screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=29743) over at WorthPlaying.

Sounds neat.
Ok this is the second post about this obscure game in two weeks. Enough pimping thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your post....are you opposed to the idea of a new game....and the idea of spreading the word about it? :)

God knows I'm opposed to new games. I mean shit, a new game comes out and makes me take time away from all the nothing I could be doing. Of course that's not really true, without video games I could raise my GPA significantly. I'll bet the person who is supposed to be destined to cure cancer is so addicted to WoW that he/she has to debate whether or not to make the trip all the way to the refrigerator to stave off starvation.
And in a completely desperate attempt to stay on topic: game looks interesting...

What's your problem? They're posting news. Two articles in two weeks is not a lot, by the way.
I'm not sure what makes this game more obscure than any other, besides big sequels like HL2. I remember a while ago when this game was anounced, there was a bunch of posts about it. So what? No need to accuse anyone of 'pimping.' Just makes you seem like a child.

Screenshots look interesting except for the 20-foot draw distance...
Hope that's going to be fixed.
Art direction is nice, though, gives me memories of Dinotopia and Star Fox Adventures (the good parts of SFA, not the crappy gameplay parts).

This just makes me want Peter Molyneux's BC.

Looks hot to me, I'll definetly keep an eye on it. If the developer doesn't drop the ball, this is almost certainly a guarenteed purchase.

Yeah, reading that reply made me cringe...
As for the game, meh, nice way to mix up the settings and everything but nothing really special so far.

the developers wont drop the ball, the game is as good as done, and mostly testing and balancing at the moment.
I played a full multi objective level the other day, took me a little over an hour I think.
The unit interface takes a little bit getting used to, but its pretty cool and innovative.
The different dinos and their upgrades are pretty slick, most of them have units in them for extra firepower etc..
So far so good ..

I remember when I first heard about this game I was disapointed that it had nothing to do with Philip K. Dick's "Lies, Inc." Game still might be cool though...

RTS-sleep-alitise is a serious problem! I've broken 17 keyboards attempting to play Armies Of Exigo. :D

What I'm opposed to is that this looks more like an ad than a news post. The wording looks like it could come straight from a press release and the poster doesn't ad any of the "attitude" that seperates evilavatar from ign.
If every game publisher is gonna have a marketing guy posting "news" on this site, it will be inundated with ads.

Seeing as RainofTerror is the resident WorthPlaying guy, and that he words all his posts like this (so it's not favoritism or 'pimping' or whatever,) I don't see the problem.

I remember Dino-Riders, Darr. There was that fat lady for the villain, right?
Oh wait, I'm thinking of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, which was awesome. Is that what you're thinking of? I don't think I've heard of Dino-Riders.

no, it was some spaceship is being attacked by some bad guys and goes through this rift in space, crash landing on a planet full of dinosaurs. they didnt realize they were followed by the aforementioned baddies, who also crash. the main good guy was a blind old dude, and the good guys could communicate with the dinos with these necklaces. the bad guys had various heads/faces (toad, bug, reptile, etc) and used "brainboxes" to control the dinos. all in all, it was people riding dinos with guns and everyone shooting each other, 80's style of course. watching the paraworld trailer kind of reminded me of that, only instead of the baddies they are like tribesmen/primitives.

LOL - it's true. After playing the C&C, Warcraft, Age of XXXX, and Earth:21XX series to death, there's pretty much nothing new under the sun.
The person that stops making what's already been made a billion times and starts -building- on what's been done... that person will get rich. There is a huge RTS market out here that has been drooling for years for something that isn't C&C1 (or often much worse) with ZOMG 3D graphics.
I'm still waiting for a RTS where I can zoom back to actually SEE the battlefield. *sigh* I miss Red Alert 2.

See, if Worthplaying decides to mention that they've got some new screenshots from our obscure title available, it's not our doing, you know?
Also, Gamespot has a nice hands-on preview (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/paraworld/news.html?sid=6139417&mode=previews) online in case anyone's interested. Make sure to read the bit about the army controller. ;)
