The T Rated entry into the Mortal Kombat world is now complete and off to manufacturers for its November 21st release. Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55748) has the story:
Midway Chicago's Teen-rated work on the magical fighting game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (PS3, 360) is now complete, publisher Midway revealed today.
With the finished title and its legion of beloved characters now off to manufacturing, Midway confirmed that the game will make its promised North American retail debut on Sunday, November 16, followed by the European release on Friday, November 21.
"So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic, and I can't wait to get this into the hands of MK diehards and DC Comics fans," noted executive producer and series co-creator Ed Boon.
I was all about this till they nixed most of the Joker fatality.

Turning the screen black just before the gun is fire is not going to single-handedly ruin a game, people. Stop being so dramatic.

Again, say what you want, but everyone who is assuming a T rating will make this game fail all by itself before even playing the game is a moron.

Although I stopped caring about MK after MK3 I hope this does well. I'd rather not see Midway go down the crapper just yet.

Mortal Kombat has never, to me anyway, been about the fighting system. It's been about the zany ways to turn your opponent into bouncing gibs (with multiple rib cages and several extra arms and legs).
The fighting in MK games has always been a bit wonky even though it got the job done. Removing the spine ripping, head chopping, burninating, beat-you-to-death-with-your-own-arms fatalities feels more of a concession to the DC universe instead of a positive step in direction of the series. The MK series was always full of camp, violence and laughs... From what I've seen in videos of this one, much of that has been stripped in favor of a more friendly and seemingly serious game.
They also seem to have also recycled a ton of stuff from other MK characters that don't appear in MKvDCU and given them to DC characters. Superman for example, has Shiva's Pound a dude into the ground fatality. Flash has Kabal's super fast run move which makes a dude spin around in circles... etc.
However from what I understand, they've changed the fighting system a bit (thankfully removing the style changes and weapons), so I very well may be wrong, but I'll have to play a demo before forking over the cash for this. I'm not completely writing it off, but I have severe reservations.
Feel free to check out the plethora of fatality videos out there.

All I'm saying is that this doesn't mean it will be a bad game. Who knows, maybe it will turn out very good.
