Xbox.IGN (http://xbox.ign.com/) has posted a hands-on preview (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/665/665230p1.html) that includes screenshots and in-game movies of Jaws: Unleashed. The game is slated for a January 2006 released. Here's a bit from the article.
In all, Jaws: Unleashed is a strikingly fun, wonderfully grim game. You swim, you thrash humans, they spill blood, you don't feel scared, you tear them limb from limb, and you do that for another 15 hours and life is good. Humans aren't scary. Giant, great white sharks are. Keep that in mind when this strangely endearing game comes your way. Just like me, you'll dismiss the silliness of Jaws: Unleashed, and then you'll play it, you know, just for a try. Soon thereafter, you'll be hogging the controls and loving every minute of the experience.
Uh, ok. I would be hard pressed to even try this as a rental. Especially with the number of games that are being released in the next two months that have a better premise than this.

Are you the same guy that complains about EA for churning out the same old game and never taking chances?
I dont know if this game will be good or not but that paragraph is encouraging and who knows it could be fun!

I've been waiting my whole life for this game.
That being said, I'll probably just rent it. ;-)

It's from the same guys that made Ecco the Dolphin on Dreamcast. I think it looks pretty fun. C'mon, ripping apart divers as a great white shark is AT LEAST worth a rental.

I hope the boat from the NES Jaws is in it. Best game character ever!

I was just thinking it sounded like Ecco's Evil Twin.
Personally, I'd only get this if it played the signature theme tune to let you know you're approaching things/people you can eat.

Question is, will Quinn be in the game so I can chomp his ass just like in the movie?

I'm definetly getting this game... I fear sharks, mostly because of the Jaws movies, and I have a small obssession with creatures under the sea because of Lovecraft. This sounds like it's right up my alley, and I'll certainly give it a spin when it comes out.
Besides, Ecco pwns your soul.

It sounds like an amusing Guilty Pleasure game.

BTW - It was Quint, not Quinn! Anyway, the screenshot of the flabby white guy in bermuda shorts staring at the approaching shark closed the deal for me.

I've been looking forward to this game. Hopefully by the time it comes out now I might have something to play it on again.

Kind of a morbid premise for a game (*edit* I guess you eat things other than people too). What's next, a game loosely based on Cujo where you rampage through the city eating babies and trying to avoid animal control?
And, just because...
Think of the children! This game will totally desensitize our nation's youth to shark violence!

That's a great idea. I've been trying to get an independent project going lately and this may just be the one to do!
