Popular webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del (http://ctrlaltdel-online.com/index.php) has updated the look and feel of its website.
However as Ctrl+Alt+Del grows, so does the demand on the website. So six months ago we began the monstrous task of rebuilding the website.
Not huge news, but I love my webcomics and thought people might be interested.

Ctrl+Alt+Del is my second favourite web-comic....Penny-Arcade is the first.

That is by far the slowest loading site I have seen in a long time.
Still, I'll be visiting regularly as usual. I love that comic.

Penny Arcade, Ctrl+Alt+Del, and 8-bit Theater help keep me sane at work...

They know.
The site may run slowly today. This new design has never been tested under the traffic we get here, so a lot of optimization has to be done.

I don't think I've ever seen that strip before. It's going into daily rotation now.

The best comic by far is the FUCK PANTS (http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20051104) one....

OMG, is that site rediculously slow or what?

I'm sure they are aware of how slow it loads, how could they not be? Just making a statement. Any new code has to be optimized, especially with the traffic they get. I just hope it doesn't take them too long to speed things up. Though, even if it does I'll still be a regular visitor.

My little comment in the newspost WAS going to comment exclusively on the slowness of the site, but I changed my mind when I saw the little disclaimer Absath posted.

Ugh is just me or still no RSS? They should at least do what user friendly has done, and allow rss for the new commic anoucment if they want to force the full traffic back to their site. Having to go and check sucks. Order of the stick should the same as well :p. Jeez, what is this 2002 :)

You know, I still haven't touched the whole RSS thing. Maybe I'm living in 2002. :(

Ditto, I just dont see what the advantage is. Firefox with my Fav's Toolbar and tabs is all I need.

I guess it would be nice just to be told when stuff is updated, rather than having to check it, but I'm so used to it anyway.

For some reason I always felt this comic was strangely similar to Penny Arcade, but with less big laughs. But then again, I've been told I have no sense of humor.

I remember that Kurtz of PvP listed a bunch of similarities between CAD and PA one time. I definitely like PA better, CAD has its moments.

I am a HUGE fan of Penny Arcade, VG Cats, Commissioned, and many others. You can find me as a regular Co-Host on ExtraLife Radio. ExtraLife is a really great webcomic and Blog/Forum of all things GEEK created by Scott Johnson. I consider ExtraLife as my second family, as Scott and the other ExtraLifers have welcomed me as such.

You know, this is the only reason I don't read Ctrl+Alt+Del (along with a reasonable number of other sites). I don't have time in my life to click onto a dozen sites daily just to see if they have updated, I use Sage to tell me and it works a treat.
When I emailed Tim about implementing RSS 18 months ago he said he wasn't interested; also, he had a "bootleg" RSS feed (which I was using at the time) taken down. It was then that I stopped visiting the site regularly (i.e. he lost a reader) even though I still like the comic.
Edit: Actually it was 11 months ago... jeez:

Edit #2: Looks like www.comicalert.com might be the answer to this problem... BugMeNot works if you'd like to see without signing up.

Such as finally adding official RSS feeds to Ctrl+Alt+Del, so you can be notified the instant the comic or newsposts come up, or when CADMedia launches, when a new review/preview goes up.
I see nobody reads the news posts there.

I certainly don't read all of CAD's news. Didn't see the thing about RSS, but as you can see from my posts, I don't really care about RSS.
In other news, the site appears to be hosed.

This amuses me because I've been abusing Tim over at the KoA forums, as have a lot of other people because of his asshole guild. Obnoxious overloaded with images sites went out of fashion years ago Tim. And you didn't even add RSS, forcing people onto the shitty slow loading site.

It was a different news post when I checked earlier today; it was also the first time in 3 or 4 months I even looked at the site.
Glad to hear about the RSS feed though; looks like I'll become a regular reader again.

I find that his comics that are purely about a given game or gamer experience are usually pretty funny. The whole story isn't that great, but I'm a webcomic junkie so I always check in.

I'm not saying i dont also read it but i find his comic is often very unfunny. I find most of the characters to be poorly created in the sense that they are flatter than paper.
Look at it this way, im sure you read penny arcade, you areaware of the mac guy who is all mac all the way ect,
I feel ctrl alt del comprises of a room full of those characters.
