Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz) has the details (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1547&Itemid=2).

"Rare has created an incredible game experience with a rich and compelling storyline, unique warriors, and engaging gameplay. We are excited to see the world of Kameo come to life on the silver screen through the work of Sunmin Park and Maxmedia," said Peter Moore, Xbox marketing chief.
Microsoft seem to be going all out to ensure that Kameo is the poster child for Xbox 360.

So does anyone else see this and think "Wow, that looks like Malice!"

The game had better not suck in that case, with any luck they'll have whipped Rare back into making things which are fun to play.

Let's stick to what's important here, guys -- regardless of whether or not the game sucks, the movie probably will.

The few minutes I had with it at a 360 kiosk were very fun.

Yea, I'm confused why some people think this is an impressive looking game, it's certainly not bad, but far from impressive. From MS's viewpoint though, I do think they desperately need a family/kids game, it's likely the biggest hole in their system's lineup, so this one's their best shot.

anybody else strting to get the feeling the PD0 is gonna suck? MS has shifted all their hype from that to kameo.

That's a good point, but Kameo has a wider mass-market appeal than PD Zero. I wouldn't read any more into it than that - at least until it's released and people can make up their own minds.

Maybe the movie will be directed by Uwe Boll...

According to this article (http://www.talkxbox.com/preview745.html) Perfect Dark Zero most definitely does not suck. YMMV.

In your hurry to be funny/sarcastic, you missed the following information (which, by the way, is included in the original link):

Sunmin Park will adapt and direct the project. Park recently produced, co-wrote and directed the English version of Sky Blue.

Here's hoping for anime style Kameo.

OMG! You showed me! Wow, now I just feel silly for making an Uwe Boll joke about Kameo the Movie... Gosh, we need more people like you to point out things that are obviously not true. Maybe they'll use live actors?

LoL! All in good fun fitbabits :D

But seriously, I've never heard of Sky Blue and I can't find it in IMDb, what is it? I did look up Sunmin Park who has a very small list of credentials. The most notable, he produced The Others.

I wonder if the movie is going to be aimed at children, because I really can't see it appealing to anyone else.

All in good fun, indeed. :)

Here's a description of Sky Blue from Yahoo! movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&id=1808667440&cf=info&intl=us):

The year is 2140, and humanity's reckless exploitation of the environment has all but ended civilization on earth. Only a small number of elite, possessing power and technology, thrive under the dark skies inside the palatial city called Delos on a South Pacific island. Delos is fueled by carbon pollution and propagates environmental wretchedness. The Diggers -- refugees forced to live in the wasteland surrounding Delos -- come to the city seeking asylum, but the elite viciously keep them out. Jay is a female trooper who guards Delos against the Diggers. Her loyalty is tested when she learns that her childhood sweetheart, Shua, is leading a Digger rebellion to end the reign of pollution. Jay must choose between duty, love, and the hope of blue skies.

Ok, I'm looking at this, and it's animated. But it's not directed by Sunmin Park, he's the producer again. And if he's worked on the "English adaptation" that means he's had relatively little involvement with the film. So this will be his directorial debut.

I dunno, lot of market speak, from a pro xbox site. Said, "This is truly a next gen game" like 4 times without telling me what that means. I think the single player will be fun, I really enjoyed perfect dark, but the shift in focus from microsoft, and the subtle clues from previews tell me the multiplayer isn't shaping up too what people were expecting.

Sure, I guess the Kameo IP has more chance of going mass-market (Cartoon, feature film, candy, a variety of other things come to mind...) thanks to its family-friendly appeal, sort of like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro and whatnot.

But in the end, the success of the Xbox 360 is resting on games like Perfect Dark Zero. I'm pretty damn sure the majority of hardcore gamers out there (The ones that are going to be devouring those early X360 shipments) are way more interested in PDZ. It's got the guns, the Nintendo heritage, and a sexy heroine. Kameo can hardly compete.

I suppose you're right. This thread is about as gay as the nintendo wifi dongle thread. Mmmm...dongle. It would compliment my laptop's nipple so nicely.

Wow, SP will do this? "Wonderful Days" was a cool film. Wonder if Kameo will look like that?
