It's that time of year again! Penny Arcade has kicked off (http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php?date=2005-11-07#2866) this year's Child's Play, with a total of 15 hospitals to choose from this year. Help some children out in your area! This year there are two hospitals in Canada and one in the UK.
The Child's Play Website (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/)
The website this year is extremely well done. Definitely a worthy cause. The news always cries to the video game industry to "Think of the children!" and so we do. :D

I've always been a huge fan of Child's Play and encourage people to donate. I'm hoping I can scrounge up enough extra cash to do so myself this year.
Stupid poor college student status.

I hope they make up the T-shirts again this year.

How does it work, do you just order stuff through amazon, and its automatically sent to the hostpital? I'm still in disbelief that Nova Scotia is doing this.....

What an amazing project. I just wish that I could donate to the Children's Hospital in Minnesota as they do an amazing job there.

Yes, anything you purchase though the wish list for the hospital will be sent straight to that hospital. They generally wait awhile and send gigantic shipments to each hospital.
The past couple years PA has posted pictures of some of the piles of toys, I'm sure they'll do it again this year. It's a good feeling knowing you've contributed to that pile..
Boy it would suck to be a kid stuck in a hospital for long periods of time.
Really amazing what these two guys have been able to coordinate in a couple years time. I'm not sure how these guys pull of a web comic for a living, let alone being able to do awesome things like Child's Play and PAX. Both of which are at the level you'd expect would take good sized corporations to pull off.
Now we just need to wait for the asshats who say this make Gabe and Tycho look bad. Yes they do exist, just wait.

When I was a kid I had two long stints in the Children's Hospital where I grew up.. It was absolutely NO FUN. I was very young, and I'm 30 now and I still remember the experience.
Because of this, I've been giving to Child's Play since it started, and I will give again this year.. It's such a great idea.

I was surprised Toronto was on there as well, though in all honesty, their "local hospital" scheme worked, because I chipped in this time.
