Starbreeze's New Riddick Comes Next Spring for PC, 360, and PS3

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was originally stated to be a re-release of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, but with more stuff. Now, Atari has confirmed that while it will have the old stuff, it'll feature a full fledged new campaign, and that it will be coming to PC as well as the PS3 and 360. VE3D (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/42644/Chronicles-of-Riddick-Assault-on-Dark-Athena-Coming-To-PC-Next-Spring) has the release:

Featuring a brand new exhilarating adventure, a high-definition re-imagining of the classic Escape from Butcher Bay campaign and new multiplayer options, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena will thrill fans when it launches in spring 2009.

I can do without the MP, but I'd love to play Butcher Bay in HD... and now I'll be able to... AND more! <3

Look this is a good game and all, but I bought it already for the XBox and never finished. I was hoping for compatability instead of 60 bux.

The new campaign does sound interesting though...

I really liked the first one, but lost interest midway and never went back to finish it. This new one must look incredible, going on how good the last one looked for its time. Its also good to see the amount of new content they're putting into it, as a pure graphical upgrade would not have been enough to warrant a remake so soon.

It says that Dark Athena will have "A brand new full length campaign" as well as "the original game remastered for hi-def".

I think this is probably why it got delayed so much, i think they kept adding new stuff and eventually the "one mission" became (hopefully) an entire new game. With the old game+ mode still in it.

Chronicles of Riddick is still one of my favorite first person games i've ever played, and even now it's graphics hold up EXTREMELY well. I can't wait to see what these guys do for this new version of it. I'm also very relieved that it's coming out for PC. w00t.

Hell yes, i loved butcher bay and still play it every once in a while. I can't wait to get my hands on this

I thought Atari said they were getting out of full retail releases and just focusing on Downloadable games (XBLA/PSN/PC) from now on. Didn't they say Alone in the Dark would be their last retail game?

wow more good news from Atari looks like they are doing sth right for once. Really looking forward to this game since the other was superb! Go Starbreeze don't let me down here please.
