Some Red Alert 3 PC Keys Janky

This seems to be a growing trend. It appears as though that some copies of Red Alert 3 for the PC have shipped with 19 character CD-Keys, instead of 20. VE3D (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/42637/Red-Alert-3-Copies-Ship-with-Bad-Install-Codes) has the story:

If you are trying to install Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 and the code is only 19 characters long, then it is missing the last letter or number. This was due to a misprint on a small number or manuals and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

In order to get a replacement code, please click the "Contact Us" link on the left side of the page, and attach an image of your code to the incident.

Any of you all buy it and have this issue?

Oh, EA. It's bad enough that you're (still) catching flak for the DRM in Red Alert 3, but customers that legitimately obtained it still run into trouble just trying to install the game.

So where does the finger get pointed towards in this case?

I can't play... only 19 for me and support.ea.com is like pouring salt in my eyes and forcing me to walk a tightrope. Phone support is a long distance call. E-mail support is lacking and I had to run through hoops to get them the correct info to prove that I'm not a thief and a day later I still don't have a CD key that works. I just can't express how much I hate the company and all the people that work there.

Can't you just try every combination of characters for that last place? it should only be 26 + 10 possibilities? (assuming it is the last char thats missing... but hey, worth a shot right?)

Shortly after I posted EA sent me the new key. Maybe they read these posts... Of course once I got the game installed I realized that the reviews were very kind to EA's marketing money...I mean game. The tutorial was like watching a Barney episode. Talking tanks? Pastel colors? What a disappointment. :mad:

Apparently you had no idea what you were getting into before you purchased the game.
