So, here it is again, beginning of the week. Dreadful Monday where we leave our games behind and get back to serious business. Like posting this stuff on EvAv:P.

So what did you guys play?

I played Fable 2, and I think it's one of the best games of the year so far, I love it. Also so MarioKart Gamecube with my 2 little nephews. They had a blast, I just wished it was MarioKart on the snes.

I played about an hour of Dead Space, about 10 minutes of Warioware Touched, and about an hour of Professor Layton. I was supposed to go to New York this past weekend, but the event got postponed due to potential rain (which didnt end up happening until the evening). So instead, I stayed home and tried to mulch some leaves, but my mower decided to seize up on me. Good thing its still under warranty. I can expect it back in 2 weeks while the leaves create a beautiful blanket of anguish on my lawn.

Far Cry 2 and World of Warcraft, the new zombie invasion stuff is pretty cool.

I've been studying like crazy for (hopefully!) the last two subjects of my CPA, so not too much gaming. I did manage to get some more time in with Wario Land: The Shake Dimension [aka Shake It!] which I'm absolutely loving. It's so nice to have a beautifully animated 2D platformer on the big screen again.

I also got some time with The Darkness which I bought for $12.50AU the other week (I think that's about $0.03US with our current dollar value). I can't believe how good it is so far. The quality of...everything...has really surprised me. I know it got good reviews when it did the rounds, but no one ever tried forcing it down my throat (in fact, someone had told me interesting concept, terrible execution).

I played TF2 for quite a bit this weekend.

I'm trying to level up my medic to get the Kritzkrieg charge.
I'm also trying to level up my HW to a level 10 Chain gun. I know the basic gun is Natasha, but I don't know what the level 10 is. Anyone?

Also played Skate (because I watched a video for Skate 2 and got all excited).

Also tested PURE at my cousins house which was extremely fun!

The Darkness is pretty awesome, I bought it on release and have never regretted it. It's not the best shooter ever, but what it lacks in gameplay tightness and such it makes up for in worldbuilding and story. Terrible execution it is not.

It all depends on why you play games like that. My favorite shooters are Bioshock, The Darkness and Half Life 2. Not well known for the hardcore shooter gameplay, but more for the total experience. I can see how it wouldn't live up in the gameplay dep if your an avid CoD4 or Counterstrike player though.

Little Big Planet with the familiy. I've got my wife hooked on it, so Balek's gaming time has now increased in a major way. :D

Dead Space mainly. Only half way through though. I wait till it's dark to play

I also played a couple hours of Dead Space. I can't play it in the dark. Also played an hour of Far Cry 2 but the widescreen settings are all screwed up. I also tried Fable 2 a couple of times and it froze on me before I could save...

The Level 10 heavy unlock is a Sandwich if I am not mistaken. You eat it to regen HP, but you're stuck still while you chomp it down. I never equip it though as playing a heavy without a medic is pretty suicidal.

I finished up Saints Row 2 this weekend, and after that I jumped right into Dead Space, made it up to Chapter 4. Dead Space is fantastic so far, I've really enjoyed it. As for Saints Row, I guess I just prefer the more serious tone of GTA:IV, because I couldn't get into the ridiculous story, the "springy" cars, the mediocre graphics (SR2 actually looks WORSE than 1), or the extremely repetitive soundtrack. Of course, that was all the developer's "intent", wasn't it?

PS: Can I say how much I love Gamefly? I'm saving a fortune!

A friend loaned me his copy of GTA IV so I am finally starting it up. I am about 5 hours in and I am liking it a lot. I am wondering if it will hold me through the whole storyline, but so far I am in.

Just wait til you do the Bank Mission. Basically, a playable version of Heat's heist scene. I awed in its awesomeness.

Starcraft boardgame of all things!

I also dug out Assassin's creed from my friend's old games box. It's decent but repetitive.

I played on my new Yamaha SA500 guitar, and my good old Epiphone SG400. Yeah that's right, I play a REAL guitar, not fucking guitar hero! Take THAT, nerds :p

Now back to coding...

Spent almost the entirety of my weekend when I wasn't unloading my basement into our storage unit (getting renovations is fun, if you don't have 10 years of crap jammed into your basement) playing LittleBigPlanet. I had friends over and the were having a ball with it until they realized they could slap each other, at which point the game degenerated into a round of slappy-tag in the Pod for 15-20 minutes. Much laughter was had.

Now if only they'd get the online portion up and running!

Played some BioShock (I'm in the Hephaestus level), some TF2 (it takes a while to unlock the upgrades, don't it?)

I also played that game that was recently released for free, can't recall the name. The main dude you play has surgically implanted lambchop sideburns. Silly dialogue + dated graphics + before and after required commercials every time = uninstall for me.

I played Fable 2 until I realized GH:World Tour was out yesterday, so I switched over to that. Love the new slider feature on the guitar.

Played WAR Saturday evening. Picked up GH:World Tour yesterday afternoon and played that pretty much the rest of the day. Happy to say that all of the plastic instruments have worked just fine so far.

I played some Dead Space, Fable 2, FarCry2 and some WoW. But mainly I had my face melted clean off by Little Big Planet. I solved the story and then continued to somehow lose track of time for about 6 or 7 hours in Create mode.

Call of Duty 4 and then more of the CoD: World at War beta. 38 4 5 in one game. Was in the ZONE.

Played Dead Space. Need.. More.. AMMO. Good times, but the all pizza runs get a little boring.

Also downloaded Dead Head Fred from the PSP store to my PSP and played with that a bit.

Mainly WoW, just grinding on my main. I want to get him as high as possible before WotLK drops.

I also played the first hour of Dead Space, and its incredible so far.

I intended to get the rest of the way through MGS4, but ended up only getting through Act 4.

Megaman 9, will beat it next weekend probably. Got to the "play all the bosses" stage and was too tired to close out the deal.

Also played the Resistance 2 beta--co-op, played a fair amount, until the game glitched out and wouldn't let us continue.

Far Cry 2 and My Japanese Coach. But tomorrow will be Fallout 3.

Far Cry 2 (got a bit into act 2), a couple of CoH Skirmishes, and some CoD4 Multiplayer.

Also, played some Metal Slug 3 for my girls. "Daddy, can we play Xbox... maybe some METAL SLUG!!!"

Played some Fable 2, what a cool game. Lots of stuff to do and it feels much more "complete" than the first one.
