The 2008 World Series (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/ps/y2008/index.jsp) gets underway tonight when the Tampa Bay Rays (http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=tb) host the Philadelphia Phillies (http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=phi). It looks to be an exciting match up with both teams sending their left handed aces to the mound.

I don't have a horse in the race with my NY Mets fighting for a place next to the Chicago Cubs in the Choker's Hall of Shame. At least the damn Yankees and Red Sox are playing golf and blowing breathalyzers along with them.

Rays in 7. Too much depth in pitching.

I also predict that the mini-cowbell will become the most hated prop in all sports fandom.

I'd say the Rays have a slight edge in pitching. You never know who's going to get hot with the bat, but going in this looks like pitching over hitting.

I think it all comes down to which team wants it more; but if I had to pick, I'd say the Rays.

Being the diehard yankee fan that i am...i would be more than happy to watch the phillies win the '08 WS. it would be a nice cap to watching the mets choke 2 years in a row. i would also like to thank the rays for doing the dirty job and not allowing a redsox dynasty.

Rays easily, IMO.

I'm rooting for them simply because they've been shit and won nothing up until this year. I love seeing lowly teams finally get their shit together and play (and win) in the WS. It's nice to see Yankees/Red Sox not in the picture this year.
