Activision sends along word about lastcallpoker.com (http://lastcallpoker.com), a free online Poker game that is part of the marketing for their Wild West shooter, GUN.
Next week Activision will be releasing GUN, a ground-breaking game that portrays the brutal splendor of the West. Right now, another kind of western is playing at lastcallpoker.com (http://lastcallpoker.com). In the streets of modern-day LA, gangsters and hackers, one crooked cop and a girl with a gun are playing out a story as raw and bloody as anything in the Wild West. Driven by the same violent passions as Gun—greed, revenge, honor, and fury—Last Call is a sneak preview of the world of Gun. It’s here now, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and it’s free.

I've been eyeing GUN with interest, just in the last few days. The main downside is that the graphics seem a bit dated. If the gameplay is fun, though, I may not mind.

I was at EB last night and since it was absolutely dead, the counter-jockies were playing Texas Hold-em with the Gun promo cards. Very nice cards but they were saying that the cards were probably going to be the best part of the game :P
It looks neat, but I'll wait till it comes out and see how the reviews are.

i'm amazed how much effort went into this marketing though
most movies have free web games that are the equivilent of matrix branded memory.
this is comparable to pokerstars.net with an ilovebees like adventure mixed into it.

I grew tired of pokerroom.com, and since this is a new poker site that is quite fun, I am now going to buy this game.
The marketing worked for me.
Actually, they sold me when they said it was a western game.

Waiting for the reviews sounds like a smart idea. I wouldn't trust some morons who work
at a shitty over priced game store. Rarly ever do i buy my games there, even less do i socialize with the people there. Do they even know anything about the game? I will wait for the reivews before i plunk down my cash, but so far this games looks like the best thing since the San Andres.

You "may not mind"? If the gameplay is half as entertaining and refreshing as it sounds (Old West is really underused as a setting, and the last few games to try didn't do so well), I'd play it in ASCII.

I do as well. I loved San Andres but I was really getting sick of the hood and all the swearing and shit :)
But seriously there's only so much you can take before you just start to drown it out, which is why I’m really hoping Gun turns out to be a great game. GTA expansiveness and game play with a better story. I hope they didn't F this one up. Hey if nothing else just give the main character a skate board, neversoft can't screw that up ;)
