Where the hell is Freezepop?

Underoath and Between the Buried and Me are prime. I don't think I've heard of any of the rest.

Good thing there's no Chevelle in this pack.

It's The Chevelles.

The Chevelles. not Chevelle, ditto on not liking them. I'm with you AversionFX, Underoath & Between the Buried and Me are the only thing I'm looking forward to.

Nothing like getting a bunch of free songs that I don't care about!

Songs that they were able to get the rights to, but only a handful of people would buy.

If that's the case, where's the Ho-Ag?

Yeah, where the fuck is Freezepop? What are these, advertising tracks that labels are pushing?

I stand corrected. but this list of now complete unknowns makes me even less excited...

I think that the few bands I've heard of are terrible. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest, though. Hopefully at least one song will surprise me.

And for the people who are complaining about the huge number of unknowns: at one point in time all of your favorite bands were in the same boat. The songs may suck, but don't base your opinion of that on whether or not you've heard of the bands involved. Give it a shot before being negative, and respect the fact that this is a huge fucking deal for the bands involved.

Authority Zero - “No Regrets”
That's awesome.

Isn't Evil Avatar based out of Arizona? Authority Zero is from Mesa.

For those of you complaining about these songs, maybe give them a listen before you trash them. The bands may not be as famous as some of the others in Rock Bamd, but that doesn't mean they're not bad.

Wow... How sad. I really was hoping that there would be decent tracks on here, like that rumor that was going around... :(

While I wish the tracks were by artist I'd heard of and liked, I'll withhold judgment until I've heard the tracks.

There were/are several artists I'd never heard of until Guitar Hero and Rock Band introduced them to me, and some of the songs were great to hear as well as play.

Rolling Stone doesn't list the 20th song, but it's "I.V" by X Japan, aka the only band on the list that I've heard of. ;)

Come on, they're free songs. I'm not gonna complain one bit after the awesome track list that was Rock Band 2. If they'll give me an entire disc of great tracks and make the lesser known bands as free DLC, good on ya!

A Dealership song and a new Shaimus song? That's enough to make me happy. Especially since they're free.

I've never heard of any of those bands so I'll have to listen to the songs before I decide if the set list is good or not.

Free is free, I guess, but I gotta say that nothing on there excites me, largely since I know none of it.

Although there have been many instances in GH and RB when I have come to really like a song I had never heard before the game, so hopefully this will be the same.

I was really hoping for more of the bands from the "Bonus Songs" list in Rockband 1. Freezepop, Death of The Cool, Honest Bob, Vagiant.

You aren't the only one. I mean come on, Freezepop is headed by Kasson Crooker... who is a senior producer for Harmonix. Why ARENT they in this list? I'm not poo-pooing the rest of it, because I honestly don't know any of them at all, but I wanted Freezepop.

BTBAM! Seems at least a couple other EvAvers are excited at some mathy progressive goodness. Anyone had a chance to watch the "Colors Live" DVD? I'm assuming it's fantasterrific.

And, in agreement with a few that have already said it, the songs are free, give them a chance.

wow what is this, a bunch of cover band or something? I thought I was updated when it comes to music biz but seriously I don't have a clue about who theese guys are. Talk about picking a bunch of non international biggies for free downloads. Boring...

God forbid anyone paly something out of the ordinary. I actually LIKE having some of these lesser known songs on there, never know what you'll find.

Underwhelmed.

If you want to do weird indy, how about giving us some of the indy we grew to love from GH1 and 2. Freezepop, The Slip, Honest Bob, etc.

Oh well, free is free. Free doesn't make something good though. Hope there are some classic songs in there ala GH1/2 but I'm not holding my breath after the indy from RB1. Although I loved the Honest Bob song on RB1.

Hollywood Undead are the only ones I've heard of, but I'm looking forward to watching/listening to the wife and kids play these songs. I've been pleasantly surprised lately with similar seemingly random assemblages of free music.

I'm sick of people defending BS like this.
Everyone was excited about how there would be 20 more free tracks.
Speculating began, everyone wondering what they would be...
We should have realized... they would be 20 tracks noone would pay for.

I feel like this is an asshole move. Not one big name in the list.

While these might not be the epic songs I (and everyone else) was hoping for - this could be a good opportunity to find some new music you may like - and it's free! Altough Kutless is a cheesy Christian Rock group. I'm a Christian and...ugh...just...yeah...you'll see...

The songs might be awesome (though the couple I checked out were decidedly meh), but I don't play Rockband to listen to or discover new music. I play Rockband because I can play along to songs I know. As someone who primarily does vocals in a party setting, anything I haven't sung along to in my car or in front of my PC just plain doesn't get played.

This is a marketing ploy, pure and simple. And I guess it kinda worked because I'd never listened to Opiate of the Masses before, but their song on the list was decent so I'll check em out. Will I download it to play in RB though? Doubtful.

I'm all for off-the-radar music; Harmonix has a good track record at slipping in quality music via the Bonus tracks.

But I'm still shocked to not see a single track from fan-favorites like Freeze Pop, Honest Bob, Count Zero, Ounce of Self, etc. There's not even a goofy track like Timmy/Trogdor.

It's a bummer.

Agreed. Honest Bob was the one standout I'd never heard of in both GH2 and RB1 that I actually played more than once. Freezepop's offering in RB1 left me cold though (har, har), so I don't really miss getting more from them sad to say. "Less talk more rock" kicked ass though.

Oh, also... off topic (but in the vein of fan favorites) I would consider giving part of a toe to get a Dethklok pack. Thunderhorse from GH2 remains one of my all time favorite tracks. "Murdertrain" or "Hatredcopter" would be absolutely glorious.

I know two of these songs and...

they're both tupping ace. Colour me excited. Playing a song you've never heard and really enjoying it is one of the finest things in these music games. Some people are going to play these and expand their horizons. It is only a good thing.

Authority Zero is a band that I listened to for quite awhile. They got a lot of airplay in San Diego when I was younger. That should be good, at least. I haven't heard of a lot of the bands on there, but fuck it, if they make the gameplay compelling, the song is almost a backnote.

I think most people would beg to differ there.
