Put your minions back to work! Codemasters sends along a short press release announcing that author Rhianna Pratchett will return as the writer for Overlord II (http://www.codemasters.com/overlord/) for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and as the writer for Overlord Dark Legend for the Wii and Overlord Minions for the Nintendo DS.

Writers' Guild award-nominee Rhianna Pratchett has signed on to return as scriptwriter for Overlord II, as well as both series extensions - Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions. Pratchett was nominated for Best Videogame Script for her work on the original Overlord game in the Writers' Guild Awards 2008.

Coming in 2009, the all new titles in the Overlord series include Overlord II for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games For Windows, Overlord Dark Legend for Wii and Overlord Minions for Nintendo DS.

I'm playing through overlord right now. ($10 at gamestop for PC!) The writing is golden and the game itself is extremely enjoyable. I'm about 20 hours into it so far, i'm glad that I picked it up. I'm also glad that a sequel is coming out and that the writer is the same.

Overlord is great, its just too bad I never had time to finish it.

I played up until you finally got the water imps and I was in some underground area and every time you got killed you had to start over from the beginning of that area -- after about the third try I just gave up.

Very enjoyable game and I'm sure after the big holiday glut I'll get around to finishing it.

While I loved Overlord, the writing was nonexistent in that game and it seems kind of absurd to me that people are considering this something worth announcing to the public/media. Overlord was a fun game with some small issues which i grew bored of on the last level, and while I'd be stoked to play the heck out of the sequel, the absolute last thing I was wondernig about was the writing, and "hey I hope they bring the guy back who managed to make a gripping world of elves and peasants and dwarves who mindlessly attack my big, mean protagonist."

I'm with you on that Coyo7e... I mean, yes the game was funny but it was naught but quips and funny animations. I'm at a bit of a loss on this one.

Still, Overlord was a very enjoyable game.

Although it doesn't really say anything about her talent, Terry Pratchett is her father, and I can hope she inherited something.

The entirety of the writing of Overlord was involved in the sarcastic little quips that mainly came from your mistress and the older minion-guy. Not to mention the little minions themselves were hilarious.

Enjoyable game.
Got it for the 360.
Just a darn shame that the decided to not give an overworld map in there.
