May be old news for some of you but EuroGamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=261398) is reporting that the Playstation 3 version of Bioshock contains a teaser trailer for the sequel, BioShock: Sea of Dreams.

The very first teaser trailer for BioShock 2 has been shown.

The footage is unlocked after completing BioShock on PS3, and shows a 9 or 10 year-old girl (presumably a Little Sister) standing on the Atlantic Coast peering out into the ocean.

A cuddly Big Daddy toy dangles from her hand as the camera zooms out to show a cityscape bursting from the sand behind her.

Eventually the BioShock 2 logo fills the screen, before the subtitle Sea of Dreams is written underneath.

You can view the trailer over on Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55370).

Thanks to oddmaker for the contributation.

Do people honestly want to return to the bioshock universe already?

Where does the story go from here?

Underwater zombie invasion?

Sequel or prequel? I know most news / podcasts I've seen assume prequel, but I've never heard confirmation either way.

I'd love some more Bioshock. Although a similar cool plottwist does kinda seem out of the question.

To me, the trailer looks like it's setting the game up as a prequel (With the buildings coming out of the sand). Does anyone know the name of the song that's playing in this trailer?

Has any game ever been rejected by the market because people weren't ready to "return to the universe"?

I wanted to return as soon as I finished the game.

Yes, I'm ready to return for more Bioshock - especially if the game is at least close to being as good as the original.

The videogame industry has cheapened the word "universe" through constant over-use.

The first game was good, but was about four levels too long.

My guess would be sequel from the good ending: A rescued little sister is dreaming of the past and feels compelled to return, possibly to rebuild.

The Barnacle-crusted logo also suggests time has passed and the butterfly is pretty standard 'rebirth' imagery.

And this is only a teaser - at the very earliest I wouldn't expect this game before next holiday. By then it'll have been 2 years. Very reasonable sequel timing.

Yes! Definetly interested!

This is the prequel I believe. Wierd that they would have a big daddy toy in the universe before the city was built.

I hope the toy comes with the preorder...

Of course no one wants to return to a popular, widely heralded game! Why gee wiz, everybody knows that a true sequal has to come years later - after we've all forgotten the original and they have a chance to avoid a direct, storyline continuing sequal in any way.

I never wanted to leave in the first place.

Is anyone really surprised by this? As a rule you should always expect follow ups no matter what they are called. It's all about cost savings I bet.

Sadly the "Universe" ain't what it used to be.

but BS2 - sign me up- 'cause it still better than most.

With so many yearly installments, I think it would be ok to have another Bioshock next year.

Don't forget the doll, which sure looks like a Big Daddy doll.

HELL YEAH I'm ready for some more Bioshock! I don't expect to see until next summer though. Which is fine.. good to know there are killer AAA titles in the pipline after this years crop. (Dead Space, Fable 2, Fallout3, Gears2 etc)

Sea of Dreams? That's the name of the game? That is so incredibly awful. That's right up there with "Sudden Valley" on the sucky names for things.
