Worldofwar.net (http://www.worldofwar.net) brings along news that the promotional code given out at this years Blizzcon not only offers players a cool new polar bear to ride around on but is the first item to use the new "Bind to Account" tag allowing players to share the item between all of their characters.

Select the Big Blizzard Bear option. Paste the code provided by the website. You will loot the mount. Click it to learn it. Where did it go?!! No worries. Open your character window (C). At the bottom, locate the Pet tab. At the top you will see two tabs: Companions and Mounts. You will find your Big Blizzard Bear under Mounts tab. Drag the icon and drop it on the spell-bar.

You: "Oh wait! What's the Bear icon still doing on my inventory bag? It's just taking space and not doing anything!"

Sighs, read what the icon says ... Bound on Account. Cool ain't it? Go to the nearest mailbox, and drag that Bear icon into the Send mail window. You can mail it to any of your account alt-characters. All your alts get this awesome Blizzcon mount. Watch the video! (Screenshots after the break)

Kinda odd to make it an item you have to mail around. I'd think that would just cause a bunch of GM petitions about accidentally deleted items, being unable to mail to their cross-faction alts, etc.

You'd think they'd just have you enter a CD Key via the website and have a vendor NPC that passes out the pet spell.

Yes, I now wish I could go to BlizzCon simply to get a polar bear mount. :D

Why couldn't they just make it work like the collector's edition pets? Those were joyfully simple.

I like WoW and I spent a lot of time playing it a few years ago, but I don't play it socially and as a solo player it just feels like it will never end. There is always some item or other that has slightly better stats, but so what? It just ends up feeling like some kind of time machine to experience while my real life slips by. So I stopped. At this point, it is easier for me to have fun playing games that I feel like I have a shot in hell of actually finishing.

I almost ordered the Blizzcon PPV...but then I realized I'd be spending $45 just to get a silly bear mount.

Part of me still wishes I had, but the rest of me is glad I saved that $45 for next week; Fable 2 and LittleBigPlanet release on the same damn day. They hate my wallet.
