The follow up to the PS3 durrty launch racer Motorstorm will get a demo this Thursday, according to Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55297):

It's been nearly one month since the MotorStorm Pacific Rift demo was made available, but only for paying subscribers of Sony's downloadable video magazine Qore. This week, that demo will get opened up to the general public when the PlayStation Store gets its weekly update on Thursday.

"The demo includes Rain God Spires, one of the 16 courses exclusive to MotorStorm Pacific Rift," reads a post on the PlayStation Blog announcing the demo's availability. "Race against the computer in single-player mode or grab a friend for some split screen multiplayer action. Log on to the Store from your PS3 system and download it this Thursday, Oct. 16th!"

Sporting 4-player split-screen racing and up to 16 players online, Evolution Studios' off-road racing sequel lands on the PS3 on October 28.

I've had this demo for over a month now. Must have gotten it from Qore. My favorite part of the demo is the Ministry soundtrack. Jesus Built My Hotrod is the perfect song for this game. Otherwise, it not much different from the first one.

Yeah, if it is the same as the Qore demo, they chose to use a level that is a remake of level used in the demo for the first game. That being said, the menu for choosing your vehicle now is instantaneous, and the Monstertruck is a bitch at cornering. Tried out the splitscreen multiplayer which had some different vehicles to use than was in the SP demo portion, and had a good time. It would have been nice if they would have included some of the more interesting levels I've seen from previews, or even a level where the "cool your car down by driving in the water (so you don't blow while boosting)" feature was in use.

Didn't like the demo that much, it was competent, but somehow also very boring. I'm not much of a race freak mind you, and Wipeout practically filled every racing need for me.

i never understood where this game fit into the sequence between the first one and the upcoming second one. is it like a standalone motorstorm1 expansion or something?
