S2 Games sends along word that it has launched the official website (http://savage2.s2games.com/) for Savage 2: A Torturned Soul.

Developer S2 Games today announced that it has put the finishing touches on the Official Website for Savage 2: A Tortured Soul, the sequel to its first PC title, Savage: The Battle for Newerth.

The site features an updated look, a new synopsis for gameplay, new screen shots, a direct link to the teaser video, and new concept art.

Set to launch in the summer of 2006, Savage 2: A Tortured Soul, will feature the same style of beautiful, expansive environments that truly immersed players in the critically acclaimed original, however an entirely enhanced combat system, animation features, and gameplay elements will catapult Savage 2 light years beyond its prequel.

Actually, I loved Savage! The problem was that if your commander wasn't good and your team started falling behind early on, everyone would just quit. The few times I tried out being a commander my teammates would get pissy and leave when I didn't upgrade fast enough. So, how was I supposed to learn how to do it?

If they add bots for some single player practice before getting online, I think that would solve a lot of the problems from the original.

I loved Savage too. The commander was a huge factor in a group winning so that is why I believe a lot of people started playing only with their clan/guild. In the days of 20 million dollar budgets for games, it's nice to see a small talented dev team build a great game and still have time to post on their forums.

I WANTED very much for Savage to be good, but it just wasn't (in my opinion). It never felt right to me. Perhaps Savage 2 will be better.

That's awesome, I was disapointed when the first game flopped though not so much of it's own accord. So much of it was that the game was as dependent on it's community as an MMO, unfortunately that community never latched on in the size it needed to. As was mentioned those that did get into the game had their experiences ruined far too easily by the idiots who couldn't care less about anyone elses experience. Hopefully they'll turn the game up to that next level and it'll be good stuff.
