Do you have a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 that you were looking to unload on eBay for some fine cash? You had better do it soon because it appears that it may be coming to both Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. 1Up is reporting (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3170600) that this fighter was recently rated by the ESRB.

According to a new listing on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board's website (via NeoGAF), it appears Capcom's classic crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is heading to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, more than likely as a digital download over Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

As usual, the mere appearance of a rating doesn't technically constitute as an official confirmation, but there's a bit more evidence backing this up. A couple of NeoGAF posters also relayed images of what sure seems to be Marvel vs. Capcom 2 listed on PartnerNet, Microsoft's closed version of Xbox Live used by developers to test unreleased games online. Not only does this seem to further confirm the existence of MvC2 for the 360 and PS3, but even better, it suggests it will indeed have online play.

But it does leave one to wonder -- if the game is already being tested online, and if it already has an ESRB rating, why wasn't this announced at Tokyo Game Show last week? Regardless, if (when?) we get an official confirmation, we'll let you know. Keep your fingers crossed.

With all these fighting games hitting, I'm seriously considering looking into a fight stick, instead of having to use the squishy 360 controller.

Since Capcom doesn't hold the Marvel license, I'm wondering how this is possible. Perhaps a deal with EA, or some stipulation when the game was made that Capcom would be able to rerelease it in perpetuity?

possibly one of, if not the best fighting game ever.

Kudos to Capcom for finally realizing the demand for this game and re-releasing it. Now, how about MvC3?

It might be a North America-only release. Maybe part of the deal with the current license holders?

They could easily charge over 2000MSpoints for this.

Meh, too fast and twitchy a game for me. My hands throb like crazy after playing this game. But this is nevertheless great news for everyone that likes it. It's certainly one of the most popular fighting games.

I actually preferred the first marvel vs capcom, but still good news if true.

It's looking like a better and better investment these days. I was holding off since the expense didn't seem worth it for 2 or 3 games, but I'd probably end up getting a bunch of fighters that would have been awful with the standard 360 pad.

I will absolutely get this on XBLA when it drops. I just pray they nail the online portion to really give it life.

Any idea as to which fighting stick is the best these days?

MvC2 - Ugh! I hated this title. We determined that the method to win was whoever could throw the most crap on the screen at once. CvS2 is a real masterpiece.

I think the Hori sticks get the most love, and for the 360, I don't even know if you have any choice on the matter.

They do release a new version to coincide with most major fighter releases, DOA4, VF5, SC4, expect to see oe close to SF and Tekken.

As to whether each version is just a new game specific graphic slapped on the front or the actual button layout is different for each version, I'm not entirely sure.
