Some pretty sweet stuff out today for the Wii, courtesy of the Shack (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55285).

WiiWare

Art Style: CUBELLO (Nintendo) / 600 Wii Points ($6)
World of Goo (2D Boy) / 1500 Wii Points ($15)
Virtual Console

Secret of Mana (Square, Super NES) / 800 Wii Points ($8)
Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition (Capcom, Genesis) / 800 Wii Points ($8)

I love Secret of Mana.

Is the fact that Secret of Mana is on there pretty significant? I ask, because I thought I remembered Square stating that they had absolutely no interest in releasing any of their titles on the virtual console, and had no plans to do so.

If Nintendo convinced them otherwise, good for them.

It's really too bad this game won't have online co-op or anything. I would be all over the Wii if Nintendo gave the virtual console online functionality.

Releasing VC titles is almost a non-issue for them I'm sure. They don't have to put any work into them. Its almost like free money.

Was the genesis version of SF2: CE the good one, I don't remember.

Its almost like free money.I thought that the whole reasoning behind them not having any interest in DLC was because it could potentially take away revenue from the inevitable future re-releases of their older games. We have seen what, 10 versions of Final Fantasy I-VI?

Still, the fact that Secret of Mana is up there kind of makes this whole point moot. I guess I was just plain ol' wrong.

Nice. My first Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger experiences will probably overlap.

It's definitely an instant buy...but once I saw that it was on Steam, I just didn't bother turning on my Wii.

I'll still have to bother later to grab Secret of Mana, though.

I grabbed World of Goo on steam for various reasons, it's $5 cheaper on the Wii and the steam version is capped to 640x480 anyway, so I think it might have been a better deal on WiiWare.

On that note; my Wii is entirely out of space, so I won't be buying any WiiWare or VC games till they unlock the SD card slot.

Secret of Mana is an incredible game. I had no idea this was even coming for VC.
