After finding out that taking hold of cities wasn't exactly as tough (http://evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65979) as they thought, Mythic has reacted. VE3D has word (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/42232/Mythic-Makes-Raiding-Cities-Harder) that the guards and lords are getting a perm buff.
Based on our observations and your feedback, we have determined that Fortress Lords and contested capital city guards are not providing the intended level of challenge. These enemies are among the most dangerous in the game, and battles against these deadly adversaries should be nothing short of epic.
As a result of the changes we've made, Fortress Lords and contested city guards will now be even more challenging that they were previously.
'Have fun storming the castle!'
'Think it'll work?'
'It'll take a miracle.'

I applaud them.
Probably necessary, and hopefully it doesn't generate too much whining.
If capital cities are being conquered this soon after release, it's too easy to do.

It seems like they're really watching how things are playing out under 'real' conditions, and making an effort to adapt.
I'm happy with the game thus far, especially how quickly they're jumping on top of bugs, glitches, etc.

I took part in my first keep siege recently, with a warband of 10. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm disillusioned with the game, dont think i will be subscribing past the free 30 days.
I think my problem is a general lack of interest in fantasy mmorpg's, i played the WAR beta for a while and thought once retail hit, things would change, but its still a very lonely game on a social level and
... the tier 3 grind, its incredible how they didn't fix this from the beta, you simply cant level by doing pve, due to the quest exp. being too low, you are forced to grind scenarios, 100's.
Concerning the OP, i recently participated in a keep siege, very very laggy, good fun tho, until i crashed.

You do know they fixed this right? They upped the experience rewards, added more quests, and added some repeatable quests to tier 3. Patch notes are here (http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=372).
As for the social aspect... join a guild? Find a more populated server? Dunno what to tell you here, it's been completely the opposite experience for me. The open grouping, public quests, scenario auto grouping... you name it, there has been plenty of socializing going on.

Haven't logged in for almost a week now, dunno if the patch has hit the European servers, it probably has, so thats good to know.
The socializing comment, is more related to the lack people using the chat channels, even tho i do a PQ, no one talks, no one uses the general chat or the group chat, its all pretty anonymous.
Wish there was a LFG tool for dungeons, i find myself clueless about how to get a group for the first dungeon in IC, the open group tab only shows PQ groups and i dont know of any way to personalize an open group entry to show that im only LFM for a specific dungeon. The WoW LFG tool or something similar would be a good addition to WAR.

I really wanted to enjoy WAR, but the social tools provided are completely useless. This is the sort of game that absolutely requires a top-notch social functionality in the UI. The open groups and the PQs were a great start, but it's like they didn't follow through.
I'm on a server that routinely has a queue, so there's all sorts of people, somewhere.

Going from hard to easier is always better than doing it the otherway. A lot more people are likely to complain. Well lets see how this works out. Waiting for the wow kill comments to filter through now..
